In Genesis 3:14, the LORD says to the serpent; Because thou hast done this (that is deceived Eve, which inturn caused Adam to disobey God) thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

Does this mean that the serpent at one time walked about "upright" on "two" legs and could "talk" until God split his tongue and put him on his belly?

I've recently been looking into the theories that Jesus was married to Mary Magdelane and had children..and why all the outrage? how can whether he was a husband and father take anything away from his message? to me if anything it would make his message, love , hope, forgiveness , etc stronger? and why was poor mary m wrongly slurred as a prostitute for centuries by the church? she was an honest, free thinking woman of means who travelled with jesus n co n supported them financially!

i really am interested in peoples views

Do you find it annoying that people who are generally mean and nasty suddenly appear to be nice at Christmas time? I find it an empty gesture since if they have this ability why don't they use it all the time? You just know that come January everyone will be back to being miserable, and nothing will have changed.

Truly, if its one thing that Christians firmly believe, its that no man all men have come short of the wisdom and glory of God, execept Jesus who as far as I know didn't actually write any of the Bible. So if its been up to men to keep this knowledge going, men who are corruptible and imperfect and dishonest by their very nature, how are they to have been trusted to produce a book that people to believe is perfect in it's wisdom and truth?

And seriously, if God could create Heaven and Earth, couldn't God have written his own book?

I mean, here we are in London, yesterday and today, with heavy fog enveloping the airports, creating havoc and misery among the people trying to go on holiday and celebrate Christ's bithday.

Why does not his father move a finger to help his sons' friends, or even join in the celebrations?
Not much of a father is he?
My wife would never let me get away with such behaviour!

"The truth is that with so many different religions giving their followers the right to believe that everyone else is going to hell, it removes value from humanity. It cause disharmony between man and damages our species. The worlds great religions are not designed to do this, but, new religions are being developed all the time to make the followers feel like some elite person that can judge others. So, atheists now feel compelled to "evangelize" themselves. And this their humanist responsibility. Stop the hate... "

I answered this to another question as to why atheists hang around R&S...

"Do not think that I have come to send peace on earth. I did not come to send peace, but a sword. I am sent to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law" (Matthew 10:34-35)

“I tell you that to everyone who has, more shall be given, but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away. But these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them in my presence. (Luke 19:26-27)

Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man intimately. But all the girls who have not known man intimately, spare for yourselves. (Numbers 31:17-18)

Muslims believe in all Prophets sent by Allah, and so do not misuse or misinterpret the religious texts of other faiths in order to defame them.

Remember this are not my words they are bible words.

Its just a STORY> Thats all it is, a story. Stop taking it literally. In the vision, John sees creatures in heaven which worship God day and night. Day and night? So, theres night in Heaven? hmmmmm.

Its NOT literal, people. Obviously the writter himself did not mean for it to be ttaken literally. Day and night in Heaven? It was just a story to help people keep up the faith. Just a story.

What of these six gifts?
Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh.
Love, Joy and Peace.

The latter three gifts canot be purchased at stores, received from humans or found in science, philosophy and religion. They are the very gifts and person of God in Christ Jesus.

May you have a holiday filled with as much love, joy and peace as your understanding will allow. Should we wish anything less for others than what God has given to us?

Ok, why can god kill thousands of egyptian children just to let his people go, I mean if he can do that why not just kill the pharaoh and anyone who would stop them, better yet why not just put them in a coma? I mean either god needs some common sense lessons or just made a mistake... but anyway plz answer.

I asked a simple question about whether or not Athiests celebrate the holiday seaon, and what exactly they celebrate, do they give gifts, do they have a tree, and alot of people got really sensitive and gave kinda hateful answers and voted me thumbs downs. SO What if this was the most frequently asked question? No one is forced to answer any question on here. And I did not judge anyone, by saying things like "Well if you do, your a hypocrite" or "How dare you celebrate the birth of our Lord when you don't believe in him!" I was curious to know if people who are Atheists celebrate anything, or if it is just another day to them. And if they do celebrate, what are they celebrating. Only one or two people really gave an answer, that wasn't just putting down Christian beliefs or insulting me for asking. All I wanted to know was if they celebrated family, the turning of the season, or the birth of THE FLYING SPAGETTI MONSTER. It was a simple question. Why are people so uptight about it?

Some people use Scripture to justify homosexuality, and other people use Scripture to condemn homosexuality.

Obviously the Bible does not support both of these viewpoints (because then Scripture would be contradicting itself), so which view is accurate.

The group http://www.exodus-international.org/ which helps those seeking freedom from homosexuality says yes it is a sin, while other groups like www.gaychristians.org say homosexuality is okay and scripture supports it.

So who is telling the truth?
