I've recently been looking into the theories that Jesus was married to Mary Magdelane and had children..and why all the outrage? how can whether he was a husband and father take anything away from his message? to me if anything it would make his message, love , hope, forgiveness , etc stronger? and why was poor mary m wrongly slurred as a prostitute for centuries by the church? she was an honest, free thinking woman of means who travelled with jesus n co n supported them financially!

i really am interested in peoples views

I believe it outrages the Church because it goes against their beliefs that Jesus was "Divine" and not a mere man.
Equality of women was back then considered to be a Pagan belief...the balance of man and woman/God and Goddess.
Mary Magdalene's role of Jesus' wife and equal would reinforce that his message could have been based in Pagan beliefs and not Christian. This would have been a great threat to what the Church wanted everyone to believe.

Jesus' view of Mary Magdalene is shown more in the Gnostic Gospels.

jesus said she was a ho, so if they were married then that makes him a bad husband...and he was away from home a lot, a common traveler...which makes him a bad father.

Why do you want to look into theories when you could come to facts ?
