The people from that village have their traditional African beliefs(Pagan) and don't know anything about Adam and Eve or Christianity, why would anyone believe Genesis to be actual truth and not mythology?

My aunt is extremely religious. My family is Catholic and so are some of my friends, though I respect all religions. One of my friends is a non-practicing Catholic, meaning that she doesn't get dragged to church,( like I do,) and she doesn't go to CCD/Sunday School, (again, like I do.) She is thinking of turning towards the Wiccan religion because she is spiritually motivated, but she's not sure. My aunt, who is an extreme believer of Catechism because of her survival of cancer summer '06, thinks that it would be "a crime" if my friend changed religions once she turns 18. My friend says that my aunt's ways and opinion can't change her, and says that she should mind her own business because it's "my life, not her's." I like both of these people, but who should I side with? The Catholic nut, or my best friend?

This is not about the Christian Bible, the Jewish Toran, or any other religious text. If the Quran is truly an accurate revelation from God, it should be able to stand on it's own.

Either the Quran is the word of God or it is just another religious myth or legend. Proof should not be hard to find.

And no insults please, this is a serious question.

Has anyone heard of the three days of darkness? Supposedly they will happen. But when? Will they happen before the AntiChrist or after the AntiChrist? They will be punctuated by a sign in the sky, a cross, that everyone will see. The night will be very cold. You have to stay inside and cover your windows. You can't look outside, the wrath of God is great and cannot be seen. If you look, you will die. You have to burn wax holy candles, they will be only thing that will stay lit in the houses of the holy. There will be no water. It is recommended that you pray with a rosary, and put holy oil or holy water on yourself. Do not go outside if you hear people calling you, for that will be Satan's demons trying to lead you outside to kill you and take your soul. People will wish to die. but they will not. After the 3 days of darkness, the world will be changed and go back to what it used to be. Probably people will get closer to God and they will live off the land. What are your thougts?

And the Lord said unto him [Cain], Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the Lord set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.
And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

....was really a part of god’s covert way to let’s people character dictate themselves before god.

I am an atheist, but for the sake of open-mindedness I want to present an argument that I think would make for a great progressive Christian point of view

Take these two examples of things that would otherwise make christianity’s moral reasoning seem suspect.

First let’s look at the issue of homosexuality..
suppose god dictated the sinfulness of homosexuality in his word in order to test how sympathetic a Christian’s heart could be. If you accepted god’s word that homosexuality was sin but still felt too much sympathy toward homosexuals to TOTALLY RAIL against the homosexual lifestyle, then your character has expressed itself as loving “unto the least of you” (quoting Jesus)

#1Now, what if the universe we live in is just like the matrix. God could have created something like this, and we are just "plugged" into it, like Neo was. If you have ever heard of the Bible code, it can only be deciphered with computers, and they only find events in the bible as they play out or right before they happen. Do any other people think this is the way it could be? Praying could be simply like sending an I.M. Or an e-mail to God. #2Are we going to believe a theory that came about 100 years ago about man from monkeys, Why are there still monkeys? where are the ones in between, If it is survival of the fittest, and evolution adapts animals to their enviroment, then how come there are thousands upon thousands of animals and insects and fish, if there is only a few hundred different enviroments? How come there is not just a few super animals by now?
