Islam is a religion of mercy of all creatures and would not urge us to do something unless it definitely does not hurt anyone else (any living soul).

Modern science has proven that areas responsible for the feeling of pain stop working if blood fails to reach them for 3 seconds. That is why Islam urges us to slughter animals (through cutting their main veins very quickly with a very sharp knife). The slaughtered animal does not feel the pain.

Moreover, modern science has proven that their are certain kinds of bacteria and viruses that grow in the corpse of the dead animal if it died any way other than being slughtered alive. We are told not to eat animals that suphocated, fell off from a high place, etc. This is in addition to the scientific revelation concerning the meat of pigs and the diseases it causes.

These are orders stated in the Quran more than 1400 years ago that science is revealing the rationale behind them today.

Allah knows best

Peace

Well, my (and your) own existence causes others pain. So
there's no getting around it. However, one can try to minimize it.

If you're just putting an animal down not for meat, then
a massive dose of phenobarbital is quite painless...at least
from a non-psychic point of view.

If for meat, then snapping the spinal cord at the base of the
neck is quick and painless as it gets. I've had to do many for
work, and this is the easiest for me to do.

I think as many elements of society get farther a farther removed from food production, some folks get more squeamish about eating meat...and others just eat what
is in a package and don't think of it at all as a living creature.
I think as long as one is thankful and respectful of the creature's life then, as in most hunter religions, one can
justify the deed. But I guess you have no choice sometimes.

Am an experienced hunter. The quickest and probably the most pain free way of killing an animal would be to slice open the corroded artery in the neck. The animal will die and bleed out in a matter of minutes.

I know a guy who kills lab mice by holding the head flat against a table and pulling up hard and fast on the tail, breaking the neck. For a larger animal, I would think it would be difficult, both physically and emotionally, to kill with your hands. Unless you have a .22 rifle, then don't really know.

The Gods created the cycle of life Everything on this planet is food for something else...Even us. When we die we become food for bacteria and replenish the earth with what we have consumed.

We are a part of nature as the bear wolf and any other Carnivore or Omnivore animal.

A quick, hard blow to the head ought to do it. Done properly, it is an instant kill. For fish and small game, a billy club or hammer does the job. Sometimes(especially for larger animals), a bullet or other strong attack may be needed. My grandfather was a big game hunter many years ago when he was alive, and he would always shoot the animal in the head after he brought it down to put it out of its misery.

Hi, look here is the reality of the situation, because sin entered the world all people and even animals have to endure suffering, even Jesus suffered very much, it is hard to understand suffering but God permits it for His own good reason, and He also gave us animals to provide for our needs such as food and clothing and so it is not wrong or sinful to kill animals for our needs,it is wrong however to kill them for sport.

No best way,but using electricity to stun the animal first, then bleed them is the most common method.

Be a vegetarian, or eat shellfish or something.

I was a vegetarian for a long time but found it difficult, being a poor student :] Now I eat fish, shellfish, and the odd poultry. But I'll go back to veggie when it is practical. Do what your ethics tell you.

Shoot the animal in the head with a rocket launcher. The animal won't feel a thing, but there won't be anything left either.
