I think it's just getting more polarized. Atheism is growing very fast, but so is evangelical Christianity.

I think the American society likes to believe that they are religious when they truly are not. The most prosperous adult industry is found in the United States (California to be more specific).

Lets face it...sinning is fun...sex sells. Religion has always told society other wise. There's a mix of different people with different background and experiences. Fooling ourselves that the United States will remain as religious as it once was it like claiming that Paris Hilton will ever be a saint.

There is soo much non sense in the entertainment industry: celebrities are literally dumbing themselves down to the point where nothing can be justified. How do you tell your child that a woman's breast is nothing to be ashamed of (cough cough Janet Jackson's and Justin Timberlake's escapade) without mentionning that the action Justin did was completely uncalled for. Ripping a woman's shirt to reveil her undergarnment is wrong...but then again, a woman's breast is completely natural.

Certain people find relief through religion. They claim that the non sense can be cured with a little bit of faith. I cure this non sense but shutting the t.v off and closing those stupid magazines!

I would say American society is getting more spiritual but less religious. There are increasing movements toward alternative religions and spiritual awareness that do not require customs that were put into place before modern society.

It is going in cycles, and has for the reason that until now the founding. i've got faith the extra suitable vogue will finally head extra far flung from prepared faith. As our technologies improves, we've further and added accessible shared know-how. And seeing one's faith interior the context of a international that has and has had many (mutually unique) religions, and that the claims one became advised have been unique as a baby are not, bring about disillusionment of religion. And getting to grasp that there are actual solutions to what you're advised "no person can clarify it" makes people who fell for lack of knowledge or authority logical fallacies take a 2nd look. Hoax busting has in no way been extra basic, and documentation is now predicted. i think of extreme thinking is powerful. Atheists who are not extreme thinkers are not plenty different from the superstitious people who're non secular.

Depends on how you define religion. The actual root means to bind together. Baha'u'llah said that a religion that is the cause of enmity and strife is no religion at all. A truly religious person, loving the Creator would not participate in offensive violence against anyone. All agressors who say they love the Lord of us all are liars.

The world always shows more religious in times of strive. So now that America is in the **** again, of course it will show itself as being more religious.

But in reality, I think it is only show. The more religion you show, the more it will be questioned. So the backlash always comes afterwards, when the strive is over and people don't feel the need to believe once again. Its an ongoing cycle.

I do not like the world religious. I believe that Jesus came here to free us from religions. He was a Jew, He did not ask or demand everyone to be Jew. He wanted to teach us to have a life changing and life saving relationship with God. My church, non-denominational Christian church is growing 25% a year..that s amazing.

When we sing 'a calling song', this is the time that people can walk forward and get hooked up with a decision counselor to help them up to get to the right track in their life, I cannot help tears from falling down on my cheek. Everyone does not do that in their life time, and it is one of the hardest decision they might make. Every one does not get saved, but it makes huge difference in those people's life who get saved. It feel great to e forgiven.

I do not seek waht is popular. I seek the truth. And the truth sets us free. I only want to be popular in heaven.

I guess that depends on how one measures religiosity. I'm inclined to think America will continue a high level of religious participation for an industrialized western nation.

I think more. But the real question is "is america more spiritual or not"? religion is as useful as politics - it encourages people to make all or none commitments to a palette of beliefs instead of discovering the truth themselves.

I think it is "crunch" time....where people are speaking out more and science is searching for clues to proove either theory right or wrong. Just more voiced now and people are speaking up either way.
But I think it is the same.
