And the Lord said unto him [Cain], Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the Lord set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.
And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.
-- Genesis 4: 15-16

The bible uses a literary device called "anthropomorphism", which is the description of something not human using the metaphor of humanity.

Jehovah actually is a person, but this "anthropomorphism" device is demonstrated even more dramatically in Scriptures which personify impersonal things or qualities:
(Luke 7:35) wisdom is proved righteous by all its children
(Romans 5:14) death ruled as king
(Romans 5:21) sin ruled as king
(Matthew 12:40) the heart of the earth
(Exodus 15:8) the heart of the sea
(2 Samuel 18:14) the heart of the big tree
(Deuteronomy 4:11, footnote) the heart of the heavens

The going out from the presence of the Lord is not meant as Cain being in a place where God isnt! Lol

Here the Lord was having a one on one meeting with Cain.

This going out from his presence would be like you leaving the presents of a judge in a courtroom, after being sentence for a crime.

If you are wanting to know if Jehovah is Omnipresent, aka everywhere, the answer is No. Does Jehovah see everything, Yes. As far as leaving Jehovah's presence is concerned this refers to leaving a relationship. Case in point I am not in a relationship with one of my brothers. Though we are at times in the same building, and might even be able to see each other it is best if we stay away from each other for now.

Jehovah is all present, and all knowing, but he is a forgiving God. He sent Jesus do die on the cross so that if we did something bad, like how Cain killed Able, or to a lesser extent, all we would have to do is ask for his forgiviness. That doesn't mean that we can go around sinning all the time, but if we mess up, and make a mistake, like stealing, or lieing or something, he will forgive us if we ask, and truely mean it.

You have free will.
God seeks a relationship with you.
But God is a Gentleman, he knocks at the door of your heart.
It is your choice if you wish to answer.

Recall Adam and Eve hid and He called-out to them....and they told Him they hid.

You shall choose to have or not have Him in your presence and He may choose to have or not have you in His presence.

Best wishes,

pup

Hello....

Jehovah and I parted company in 1978...... I have been out of his presence, and he, out of mine.......

So far, it has been an equitable relationship.

Namaste, and happy holidays...
