The crazies are in the minority. Yes, we have one in Washington and that is unfortunate. I am hopeing that he will be a lesson to all the moderates and liberals out there to get out and vote.

According to statistics, it's about 75%. What this fails to describe is the number of such people who are actually practicing Christianity. Some never go to church, never pray and never read the Bible. They claim Christianity because that's how they were raised and the label is simply passed on.
The number of Christians in relation to other religions seems to be losing ground. Religions such as Native American Spirituality and Wicca and Paganism are gaining, albeit slowly. Paganism, including Wicca and Druidism are now actually in the top ten religions in the United States. (Though we still don't have the right to our emblem of faith on VA provided tomb-stones.
So... 3/4 claim Christianity, but that number is based a great deal on heredity rather than choice.

My opinion is that, while there are many who claim the name of Christian, a large percent of those are not following Chirst
If it were true that 75 to 80 % were practicing Christians, there would be an effective uprising against all that has slipped in the moral decline of our society.

I think 30% but even that is a huge amount, IM really not sure but around 30-50% In the bible belt the ratio of christians to non christians is christians are probably every one in three people, outside the bible belt every one in twenty(im guessing here).

The question should not be how many call themselves Christians, but how many of those actually live as Christ did. The numbers would be much narrower, I assure you.
