I have comitted a very minor sin (in my eyes, god does not define it as a sin) multiple times, and i have asked several times for forgiveness. If i really desire to repent from this sin and start fresh, do you think god would forgive me, and how could i go about repenting? Please help. Thank you.
(PS I am not going to share what this sin is, so please do not ask. It is in no violation of the law)

Because religious people, including Christians, Jews, Catholics, Muslims basically believe that we will be judged by God and the Christian bible says not to judge others if you have sinned -everyone is a sinner and needs saving! And it's believers in God that still need help and should help others want to be saved isn't it? No one has the right to look down on oter religions of similar or I suppose otherwise beliefs. what do you think?
I believe in God by the way!

one of the main reasons why christianity survives well enough in this modern era is that ........

most all christians cannot, for one second, percieve that atheism or skepticism can be brought on by earnest, spiritually truth-seeking individuals.

although given the option to see things that way, they tell themselves that that kind of thought is satan's tool to draw people away from God and that those people are lost "in satan's lies."

it is one reason most christians don't want to concern themselves with the idea that christianity might not be true.

they were brought up to believe in christianity, and they have no particular reason why they would feel they need to question the faith themselves. and it becomes especially convienent the christianity decares such thought from satan, anyways.

I belive in God and Jesus, but God knew what would happen to people and what they would do as he is God! so why did he bother?
I mean Jesus died for everyone: Why should he have? People need him nowadays as some don't even belive in him! And God knew who would be evil and God created everything including evil, why?

I ask because if you have, then you understand what it's like making fun of a religious icon you don't believe in.

So, have you? Do you feel guilty about mocking Hinduism's sacred animal?

Jesus himself said to not judge, but to love and not judge those who are different from you. As with the story of the Samaritan and the Jew. Two totally different peoples who had had many arguments and practically had a history of hate against each other.

Reading many questions and answers here I am really quite in shock about how ignorant people really are. I know many of you hate Muslims and think such bad things about them...my question is for those of you where do you get your information from? The news? have you ever opened the Quran and read for yourself? Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world if they were all terrorists the world wouldnt exist anymore do u ever think about that? If you are smart enough to watch the news you are smart enough to know that Muslims aren't the only ones in the world having issues...why are so many of you ignorant and racist? I am not trying to come off disrespectful to any of you but I am sure many of you who feel that Muslims are bad people probably don't know any Muslims personally. Can any of you elaborate? In Islam, all religions must be tolerated and respected if you see otherwise than that is not a reflection of the religion but an ignorant person, just like many of you saying hateful things about Islam may be Christian or Jewish or watever religion it doesnt mean your religion is hateful it only means you were bred that way and need to learn more. Judge a people by religion not religion by people! Thanks your answers will give me more insight about what it is that makes you guys think the way you do.

Harris and Dawkins, two men I admire (especially the latter), have said that they want to make it embarrassing to admit religious faith. While right now it's embarrassing to admit you're an atheist, they want to turn the tables, so to speak.

Christian opinions are interesting too, but I'm mostly wondering if my fellow atheists/agnostics think that's a good strategy for reducing religion's role in public policy, and why?

Now I understand, athiests don't believe there is a God or A devil. I know that satanic worshippers believe there is a God but they worship satan as do christians believe there is a devil yet worship God. So I apologize for my ignorance. Thank you for the information I needed in order to understand. Being athiest has nothing to do with it either way.

To those who do that, how many times have you seen comments or questions from christians that are degrading your belief or talking crap about Satan. Probably not too many. You people are so defensive and down right cold hearted. I know someone or many of you will respond in a negative way and that's ok, it will just prove my point even more true.

Christians make a big deal about original sin. They make it seem like it was what set evil in motion and that if Adam and Eve had listened to God then the world would be a perfect place. It's BS though. If Adam and Eve hadn't sinned at that particular moment, they would have just done it later. If not them, then their offspring would have done it. It's really a dumb story and it's hard to believe people actually believe it word for word.

Arabs are not a singular people. Origins are complex and intermingled with many peoples and lines. According to tradition, true Arabs are descendants of Abraham and his son Ishmael and prior to the 20th century, "Arab" designated the Bedouin, tribal-based society of the Arabian desert, which is the birthplace of Arabic. Other Arabs are ethnic groups that have been extant in their lands of origin for millennia. Modern Arab nationalism is a product of 19th- and 20th-century developments and has no prior historical basis. Before the rise of nationalism, most Arabic-speakers identified themselves as members of a particular family or tribe; as residents of a village, town, or region; as Muslims, Christians, or Jews; or as subjects of large political entities such as the Ottoman empire.

I go to a Missionary Baptist church a few times a month and listen to biblical discussion in a sunday school class with middle aged couples and attend an hour long music/sermon service to follow. I like listening to the discussion and pastors sermon. Shouldn't I be leaving this place filled with love and joy and peace and happiness. I have been saved and baptised for a couple years. I live a modest, humble life and enjoy helping others and being considerate and caring toward others. Do any other christains experience these things?
