Pectoral crosses (i.e. large crosses suspended over the chest/stomach area) are not strictly religious vestments. Are laity, therefore, entitled to wear a pectoral cross? I believe that this was the tradition in the early church.

Hi, I was wondering if people of the Mormon faith celebrate Christmas in the same traditional way that most Christians do- with Santa Claus and all? We were at the home of some Mormon friends, and I didn't see even one Santa- although the home is gigantic (mansion) and had many, many Christmas decos, including decorated trees.

It seems to me that virtually all of the questions that relate to religion, belief, creed are just designed to inflame and antagonise. Of all the questions I'd like to see disappear from Answers, it has to be questions relating to religion that I'd most like to see go.

it is a pity (a sin?) to live life as a big long test rather than enjoying it to the full. If this foolish God exists, and it is GOOD, then it would want us to immerse ourself in life, love one another, forgive our enemies, etc, rather than going round blessing HumVees and scimitars. This life is both heaven and hell and it is down to us which it becomes. (discuss)

Reliance on money brings poverty. Without reliance on money there can be no poverty. Some people must be given a chance to become net-creators, instead of net-debtors. I'm sure this is a very easy solution. Why on earth was this guy awarded so much money? Isn't he more a part of the problem than the solution - getting people reliant on bank loans and not teaching them how to become truly independant??????

Yahoo said I was offensive to answer a question on the universe with an Christian response. The response was "God silly". Now, I feel there is not just cause for me to get a write-up from Answers.
