(I recently met a woman from south america, she told me she did not know how to read or write, but what she knew about religion had been taught to her by her parents. Do you think that evenwith somewhat educated people this is still the case. People just do not bother to read and learn?)

No, they are both reflections of the person's inner self. They are not reflections of each other.

It's really hard to answer that.

First, I'm not sure you can know whether a person's education is affecting their religious beliefs, or if their religious beliefs are affecting their education. The Amish, for example, don't believe in going to school past the eighth grade.

Second, I'm not sure how you quantify Religious belief. You could look at intensity and commitment to their native beliefs, or you could look at how many sacrifices they make in rejecting their beliefs for new ones they have been exposed to. I wouldn't want to decide who is more religious, a boy who grew up Catholic and became a priest, or a boy who grew up Catholic and discovered Islam and became a Muslim.

Third, I don't know how you quantify their level of education, especially since religion and education are intermixed in a person's life. People are awarded advanced degrees at unaccredited Bible colleges, and at accredited Catholic and Baptist universities.

And finally, I'm not sure how you objectively compare the level of religious beliefs between different faiths. An occasional snake handler might be a lot more dedicated than a Presbyterian woman who attends church regularly every Sunday.

So, short answer: I don't know.

Not really. I'm guessing, but I think you could divide all religious people into three groups, those that are content with what they've been told, those who seek to enhance their religious experience, and those who are dissatisfied with their religious experience.
The level of a person's education is a limiting factor for those who aren't content with their religious experience, especially if they wish to enhance it, because it could lead to dissatisfaction and eventual dropping out of the religion.

Oftentimes this also comes to my mind too. I have done my homework, but once I was a mindless wanderer on earth. I thought that I can pick and chose what I want to believe.

God put hunger in my heart, hunger to be close to Him and hunger for His word. I currently attend the church and I get teaching, I would not have been able to figure it all out without these well spent hours.

What I gained from this that I now have a personal relationship with God. He talks to me through His word and circumstances and other people. I chose to follow Jesus because I want to be in my Father's house, I found my truth in Him.

Level of education of person doesn't reflect their religious opinion, it is only the mind of people which differs from others by the of accepting from them. It is all up to u , how u take from education and how u belelive.........

God takes the simple things of the world to confound the wise.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
