My brother was mentally challenged---he died last year on this date. He died of an illness, infection, whatever that even the doctors can't explain. i'm trying real hard to maintain my religious beliefs but it's getting really hard--why would God take someone who was totally innocent--who just lived their life in happiness because they could. He worked every day, made friends with everyone he met, enjoyed the simple things in life. Then there are total buttheads who are nasty and wicked and live forever--why??

Or is it because there is no temple? I know the Bible says, in Zechariah I think, that there will be sacrifices again.

Please tell me how you know. A Scripture reference is most appreciated.

If you don't know, or you don't keep Torah, please don't answer this question. I am not asking for debate here.

Thank you! :)

What shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? For the wages of sin is death; Jesus Christ our Lord. In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. Therefore being by justified faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. Mark:8:36-37; Romans 6:23; Ephesians1:7; Romans:5:1. from The Holy Biblle.

Which is confusing, is it or is it not defined in the Bible? Reading posts, I've seen it defined as being in "the grave" and having no consciousness or fire and brimstone with eternal torment. Also read that there is no "hell" - one might get stuck in purgatory, but can't go to hell from there. A specific definition would be helpful.

The bible is just to difficult for you to understand so you have a pissy fit like kids I knew at school who failed trig and geometry. Just accept it and try an easier approach instead of bashing christians all the time. (so let the hate mail begin)

I thoght you said only people who accept Jesus as their Savior can go to "heaven". So why the double standard with the Jews? ( I'm just talking about the ones who don't believe in Jesus) I have heard plenty of times where Pastors of Christian Churches have said that they will be in "heaven" with the Christians. But how can this be when they have rejected "God's" son, some don't even believe Jesus ever historically existed, & the even sometimes spit when they hear the name "Jesus" . So how may I ask, can they get into "heaven"? Yes they believe in "God" But so do Muslims. So does this mean you can get into "heaven" if you just believe in "God" or does that only apply if your a Jew ????

Hmmm...?

There are both heaven and hell ones. There are also many where people have witnessed things in detail that happened many miles away from the hospital or surgical room they were in. Some have even accurately told of objects on rooftops that could only be seen from a bird's eye view.

Thanks, Posh for your post that reminded me that I meant to ask this a couple of nights ago, but forgot.

The reader will readily agree that things are not always either BLACK or WHITE. Between these two extremes there are various shades of GREY. If you say "Yes" to his question, then it would mean that you are prepared to swallow everything HOOK, LINE and SINKER, from Genesis to Revelation from his Bible. If you respond with a "No" he quickly unhooks himself from the facts you have presented, and rallies support from his co-religionists in the audience with; "You see, this man does not believe in the Bible! What right has he to expound his case from our Book?" With this hydra-like somersault he rests content that he has safely evaded the issue. What is the Muballigh1to do? He has to explain his position vis-a-vis the Bible, as he ought to do.

The Word of God says that there are only two situations in which a man or woman cannot receive forgiveness. The first and most common is when they are in a state of unforgiveness. That is to say that they have been wronged (or sinned against) and they refuse to forgive the person, which we find in Mark 11:25.

The second, which is actually quite a rare occurrence, is blasphemy against the Holy Ghost.

Christians, on my last question I got many similar answers, but I got one answer debunked all the other answers, which raised my curiosity even more more . This is from one person.

1. Roman records prove Jesus existed.

False. There are no contemporary records that Jesus existed. The earliest possible reference to Jesus by a non-Christian was about 60 years after he supposedly died by a Jewish historian. Most scholars think it is mostly a forgery.

2. 500 people witnessed the risen Christ.

Wrong, one person (Paul) SAID that 500 people witnesed Christ. Even Mormanism has 11 sworn affidavits saying Joseph Smith was telling the truth. In this case, Paul only claims 500 people saw him.

3. The authors of the bible testify to the miracles.

There is a problem here. We have no idea who they are. Mark, Luke, Matthew and John are names that were chosen in 180 AD, about 100 years after the fact.

Mark never met Jesus, neither did Luke. Since Matthew copied from Mark, it makes sense he didn't see him either. John was written almost 70-80 years after the fact and there is no reason to believe he met Jesus either. Paul admits he never met Jesus.

Pretty crappy witnesses.

4. The bible says he performed miracles

I shouldn't have to explain why this is a stupid reason.

5. Faith

If I have "faith" that a unicorn exists in my backyard I am crazy. If I have "faith" a man walked on water 2,000 years ago I am a Christian. Does this make sense to anyone?

6. No one would die for a lie

Many early Mormons died for a lie. Muslims die for a lie every day, and have since the beginning. The Bob Jones cult committed mass suicide. David Koresh got his folks to nearly do the same.

This claim is a bald-faced lie...many contemporaries of false god-claimers have given their lives.

7. The Apostles were martyred for their beliefs?

Oh really? Please point out in the bible where it says this happened! (Hint, it's not in there). The stories about the martyrdom of apostles were written about 200 AD, at a time when Christians really were being killed, so they wrote stories that reflected that. None of those stories are in the bible. There is no reason to think these folks died of old age.

eh...that's enough. It should be obvious enough without addressing every point.

Odindmar is not my real name, but you are still talking to me. Odindmar and are the same person. Odindmar is made digital!
