I thoght you said only people who accept Jesus as their Savior can go to "heaven". So why the double standard with the Jews? ( I'm just talking about the ones who don't believe in Jesus) I have heard plenty of times where Pastors of Christian Churches have said that they will be in "heaven" with the Christians. But how can this be when they have rejected "God's" son, some don't even believe Jesus ever historically existed, & the even sometimes spit when they hear the name "Jesus" . So how may I ask, can they get into "heaven"? Yes they believe in "God" But so do Muslims. So does this mean you can get into "heaven" if you just believe in "God" or does that only apply if your a Jew ????

Hmmm...?

SOL,
Your little statement under your name makes me sad in a way.
I hope you will not always be crying.
Sol you cannot just take a pastors word for it, for there are false pastors, unfaithful pastors, unfaithful to their name, for they seek to make peace where than can be no peace, all for acceptance and praise of public opinion. What you must look to is the scriptures to see what they say and learn from them, study and digest them mentally into your soul. If you read scripture and meditate on it day and night you will gain understanding of more profound depths.
Anyway, Jesus Christ is the Savior of the Jews and of the whole world, can you be saved if you reject the Savior? It seems that would be a contradiction. Now the whole world leads to Jesus so thsat men are not without witness, left in ignorance, that is why heathens in the remotes jungle once they hear about Jesus instantly understand it and often accept it, while stubborn people with a heart full of something else resist it for pride or other reasons. How can I put it better? Well everyman has an Idea of Justice, wether it is complete or not, we all operate with a sense of what is right and wrong. We all also fail to live up to our own standards, we all judge others harder according to strict right and wrong but have mercy on oursleves. Meaning if somebody stole something it was a definite robbery, but if ouy did it, it was misunderstood, your intentions were different, you are really a good person underneaht, etc..etc.. you get my point?
With this sense of justice also comes the knowlege of failure if we really try to be pervectly just from our hearts, we realize the desires in our hearts are inconsistent, we at times want to do the perfectly right thing, and at other times just want to go wild and cheat. This leads to universal knowledge of failure, hence of guilt, hence a need of a Savior or forgiveness. The natural course of human nature and development leads to the recognition that we are fallen creature, plagued by disorder(sin), we are not perfect and cannot stand before pure justice without an advocate of mercy, a shelter from our sins.As it is written in the Holy Bible, the law is our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, it drives us to sweetness in the face of cold ,inflexible justice which makes us condemend in our own sight. Hence the bible also teaches that if any man says he is not such a scoundrel in his own eyes it is because the truth is not in him, he has no real knowlwedge but like a teenager thinks himslef perfect and puire no matter what he does, he easily forgets all the wrongs he comitss but remembers every fault of others , like his parents.
So my point is that Jews shouldn't reject their God sent Savior, their true Paschal Lamb, their redeemer, their high priest, but should see Him as necessary and a proper fulfilment to their religion.
Anyway, if you think this has some truth to it, and want to learn more , just read the bible and study and meditate on its precepts both day and night.May the Lord bless it to your heart for good.
Psalm 1, Psalm 19, 2 Timothy 3:15.
Some of my spelling here is off but I am too tired to correct it right now.

In order to enter Heaven you have to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and it all depends on the individual, it has nothing to do with the religious group they belong to. God is not interested in what denomination you belong to or what religion. He wants you to know Him and call on Him. We are all His children. A Jew, A Buddhist, a Muslim can still go to Heaven just like other born again believers because they have until they take their last breath to call on God and accept him. In other words it may be the last few moments of their lives, they can still be saved. Otherwise they will go to Hell.

No, I don't see links any longer either. Perhaps you could post them again? Yahoo must have removed them. Nevertheless, I have an interest in Messianic Jews for my own reasons. I am not one, so perhaps I can be objective. I have seen the contributions of Messianic Jews here and they are always well written and kind spirited. Unfortunately they're met with a lot of anger, though their posts are helpful and non proselitizing. A little like Daniel in the lions den, the atmosphere is.

Because they are His chosen people. And he made a covenant with them. When Jesus came and the Jews did not understand that He was the awaited Messiah the path to heaven was open also for the Gentiles.

i've never heard anybody say that. Jews rejected Jesus, and that's their problem. Thus, the whole rift and all that craziness. Remember, Jews and Christians are supposed to historically hate each other over this (though I don't hate any Jews, or any body at all for that matter!)

The only way to Heaven is to confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

I'm glad I'm not the Judge, I'm just His embassador. I wish I knew the answer to that. There are so many people out there and I don't know their hearts. Only He does. I can't tell. All God requires is a friendship with Him through Jesus Christ. That's all I know about this matter...

FYI: I'm a Catholic, just so you don't get confused or think I'm representing something else.

The only way to heaven is through Jesus. What about a person in a remote and deserted island, living in a primitive tribe untouched by modern society? I bet he's never even HEARD of Jesus! But he can be saved. Only through Jesus.

This means that the only way to heaven is through baptism. There is:

1) Baptism of water -- standard baptism undergone by Christians

2) Baptism of blood -- if a non-Christian gives his life in defense of the faith, he is baptized

3) Baptism of desire -- Consider a catechumen (sp?) who is in RCIA to get baptized, but dies in a car crash on the way to the Easter Vigil Mass where he'd be baptized. Or a non-Christian who honestly and genuinely seeks to know God's purpose for him. If he really wants to love God, God will reveal Himself to the person. A baptism of desire may be granted to a person who may think that Christianity is false, if he really believes Judaism is correct. If he has really researched and studied and prayed about it, and he does not what he wants, but what he believes God wants, God will have mercy on him.

In the end, it's all up to God. It's not for us to know exactly who is baptized through these unusual methods. But in any case, Jesus is the only entrance to heaven, because by his Paschal Sacrifice He opened the gates to us, whether we know that or not.

Since Jews do not accept the Christian concept of heaven, we don't worry about getting there...to us, there is no "there." We have our own concept of "heaven". Right living in this world is all you need to get there. Sounds much better to me...

I believe that all good people, regardless of their religion, will be rewarded. Faith is a personal issue. It is possible that one can be reincarnated or that one can embrace eternal life. The relationship we have with the Lord is a personall, metaphysical one. I have studied a number of religious texts. I feel that if you are are good person, that is more important than your religion. The decision is up to God, at the time of the Final Judgment.
