I am never sure how many times a day that I ask for forgiveness as I am just a wretch and constantly in need of God`s mercy.
I am very aware that our sins build up and burden us like a heavy load on our backs, and sincere repentence is the way to shed this heavy load, the soul is very tender and cannot rest easily with sin.

When I feel truly convicted of a sin, I turn away from it and I pray to Jesus to give me the strength to do so. Yes, it does work!!

Asking for forgiveness and repenting are not exactly the same thing. Repenting means to turn away from a sin.

How often do I repent, and do I think it works? Works for what? What's the goal? To "feel better"? Or to know that my soul is saved? If you feel that you need to repent in order to soul to be saved...whew...wrong avenue there....but we'll get to that in a minute....if you feel like repenting and crying and kicking and screaming and pouting and saying "I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry" about everything you do, and you walk away "feeling better"? Then hey....keep on "feelin'" it....for there's no biblical truth to it.

Y'see, roundabout 2000 years ago, the Son of God became a total sacrifice for sin. Mine. Yours. Every Muslims' sin, every sin that every mass murdering serial killer ever committed, he totally and fully ALREADY paid for, with his life's blood.

When he paid for sin, complete and total righteousness in the eyes of God became available to ANYONE who believes. Boy, girl, black, white, old, young, whatever religion, denomination, order, city, state, condition they're in or they're from, Christ died FOR their sin.

All the work is done. We're saved by the grace of God by faith. Not of ourselves. Otherwise, Christ died for nothing, (which is what some will tell you anyways). So....repent until the cows come home....but Christ died FOR your sins already....the sins that your nature will commit next week? He already paid for. Next month? Already covered.

If there's a sin that's too big? You're essentially saying "Jesus, your death on the cross wasn't GOOD enough for me....I can get a lot more done REPENTING that you ever could dying for my sins on the cross..." (Now, does that sound right?)

Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved!

you truly in basic terms ought to repent as quickly as....after that, God has forgiven all your sins (previous, modern-day, AND destiny). yet take notice that repenting is distinctive than an apology. Repenting potential which you're incredibly sorry on your errors and are going to put in the attempt to alter your finished way of existence. yet God realizes that we are human and is familiar with we can screw up, on an identical time as quickly as we repent. He gets that we are imperfect....yet loves us in simple terms the comparable. I nonetheless apology to Him from daily because of the fact customary I do something that I would not have. i ought to ask God to help me combat temptation and help me get previous specific sins I war with.

I am an imperfect man. Every single day I ask Jehovah God to forgive me of my many sins. In Matthew 6:9-13, this is the model prayer for us to follow. As we ask Jehovah to forgive us of our sins, we need to be forgiving others that sins against us. For we too it does work. I am thankful I can go to Jehovah God in prayer and ask for forgiveness of my sins.

If I do something wrong, I usually fess up to whoever I wronged if I think it will help.

BTW, God doesn't exist. "Admitting" anything to him might make you feel like you've gotten something off your chest, but you might as well be talking to a wall. It's a way of making you feel like you've made amends without actually having to do anything.
