When I was a child, I was taught to be a good catholic, just as my parents were taught, and their parents, and theirs... I have never personally known anyone whose belief in god(s) stems from a personal kind of revelation or experience with a diety or "miracle". Actually, one person told me this once, but he is such a lier that he can't be counted.

I have more respect for theists that are theists precisely because they believe they have experienced direct evidence of their deity.

Thanks for any thoughtful responses.

Seriously. Out of all the faiths why is it a chat fight between Christians and Atheist? Is it possible that there are other religions in the world? Is it possible that we don't care about what you believe? Is it possible that we've heard this crap for far too long and it's high time we change the subject? Seriously! So if you "Divinely inspired " and " Scientifically Enlightened " people could go take a nap and let the rest of us have some real discussion please?

I believe that truth is absolute. I naturally believed this because of my religion, but i got interested, researched, and any other choice seems unreasonable. If you believe truth is relative, do you believe that absolutely or relatively? In other words, if you think you can debate for your relativist views you are implying that there is some absolute truth to it; in which case, you contradict yourself and become wrong. If you believe relative truth relatively, than truth does not exist whatsoever but in your own mind. "It does not rise to the level of deserving our attention or refutation. Its claim is like 'I itch,' not 'I know.'"

When I was 10 years old, I would get this thing that when I went to leep, a buzzing noise would come over me, paralyze me, if I tried to scream nothing would come out (no sound) and I COULDNT MOVE AT ALL and it felt like my breath was being taken away...to get out of it, I would concentrate and tell the demon (I think) to leave, **** off (yes I swore) or say jehovah in my head over and over agin until I broke free.
Then I would go sleep in the livng room.
It would always happen when my bed was in a corner or no one was home (when I was older)...im 25 now, and I still sense it from time to time when I am alone or its between the hours 12 am and 3 am, its like the feeling you are not alone, I am not a JW anymore but I still get these. Can anyone relate???

I know some are going to say "what evidence" but that is only because they either haven't looked, or refuse to accept Truth because of their presuppositions. Of course there is a huge amount of evidence, both scientific and forensic. ALl they have to do is open their minds.

why is it that some religious folk think athiests are "bad people". what have we done to make it seem that we are "bad"?? just because we dont believe in any type of supernatural being? if athiests are so horrible then how come japan has the lowest crime rate[least religious country]?? how come im not robbing banks, shooting people with guns, thowing rocks at homless, etc. i dont understand why religious people think we are so horrible and judge us for what we believe in. i thought religion was suppose to "love" and not judge others...but it seems that is the total opposite im experiencing with religious folk.... many religious people think people who dont agree with them are burning in hell....but what about that is fair, loving or non-judgmental? just because i dont BELIEVE??? some one please explain this to me. anyone else feel the same??

If humans can do it over time to dogs, (hence the teacup/toy dogs, or how dogs came from wolves), who's to say nature can't change other animals, when given enough time ?

Every one of God's messengers says "I shall return" but when the promised coming arrives, it is always attacked by the same people who are supposed to be searching for the "return" of God's spirit to Earth. These "religious" men do very unGodly and sinfull things to the believers of the newer religion, who are in a sense the very people many have spent a lifetime dreaming of being "chosen" to see only to kill or spit on their brothers and sisters of faith.

What do you think about marrying or dating someone that is divorced. Has time changed the word of God? Mark 10:12 "And if she divorces her husband an marries another man, she commits adultry" I am a man looking for a wife and since I'm almost 40 the pickings seem to be slim. I guess that the Spirt is giving me some direction.

now human life as scientists say is only about 80 to 125.000 years old. ( it depends on how you define human life. self conscious human life acording to science is about 100.000 years old)

now if you set the age of our planet earth to a 24 hour mode, it means that human life appeared only at the vey end of the 24 hour time ends ok.
why would a God have waited for 15 billion years to put human life on earth after he created the earth?
why couldent he have done it the moment he created the earth?
