We survive as a species by looking after one another. Life is unpredictable and often hard. The difference between most of us and people who need a little help is much smaller than many people think. I doubt there is one among us who has not been helped by someone for something at some time during our lives.

God knows full well, you know how to love yourself, this is the first nature of any baby. So you never need to be taught this. Stubbornness, haughtiness, and pride are all natures built into man. To think of others first now that's totally different. What if everybody thought of the other guy or girl first. What a different world this would be. Now take it a step further, Love people that hate you, do good things for atheist, Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, Arabs, Jews, Mexican, Italians, Blacks and Whites. This is what the early church was, God's love for mankind, and the politics of the day was totally baffled why these people were so willing to die for religion. But true Love if you ever felt it, would humble President Bush or Bill Clinton to do the right thing. But most people just pretend to be in Love as long as it serves their needs. But I practice acts of kindness to strangers. Sometimes this can change a life and death situation. All people need to know someone cares, then life would have more value to all of us

U can have 10 cars but still u can travel in only 1 at a time.
U can have 100 pairs of shoes but still wear only 1 pair at a time.
U can have 1000 shirts but still wear only 1 shirt at a time.
If u look back u may have wasted a lot of resources.
Charity is ur option to do some good things to others.
It could be in gesture, word, help, money, etc.
Thank god that ur not on the receiving end.
It has to begin at home, Ur kids have to see u giving, helping, sharing...in order to pick up the habit.
After all u cant take all ur conquest to heaven.
Christmas is round the corner & is always the best time to be generous with help, praise, tips, gifts & donations.
U definately can afford at least one of them.

Coming from my very humanistic, not-at-all religious standpoint:
Every person is capable of greatness. We're it. We're the top of the food chain, we're the best the planet's got. There's nothing with authority above us.
And every single one of us is capable of the same things. A truly humanistic view realizes that if we're the best there is and this lifetime is all we've got, everyone should be helped as much as possible and the world should be made as good a place as possible. No second chances. Help everyone you can.

Going to college, I hang out with alot of Doctors. One doctor in particular, this is strongly true for. He is a modest person. Who doesn't require much money to have everything he needs to make himself happy. He buys everything he wants, and still has this huge chunk of money left afterwards. So what should he do with it all? He can't fulfill more wants or needs, because he's already done that. All the money is nothing but paper to him now. So, a good solution, is to give it to charity. Give it, too someone else who sorely needs it, and is otherwise uncapable of earning the amount needed themselves.

To help others feel better and to help us feel better as well. If you see yourself as having a lot of problems and you are depressed if you pray for others and help others in need you will began to realize and feel that your problems aren't so big anymore. You'll also become happier and want to do it more often. Charity is a sign of love and it is a selfless act.

Sometimes people need help. It is nice to think that those people can get help because I threw my pocket change, that I would probably just lose in the couch or spend on candy, into a jar.
Who knows, maybe one day it will be my face on the jar.

First off to really let God use us to show His love to people and secondly (financially anyway) as a spiritual dicipline. It is very easy for money to become your god in place of God. So a good practice to help you control that greed temptation is a sacraficial amount of charity. This will insure that you are keeping yourself dependant on God, not yourself, money, or things. God wants you to depend and trust in Him.
