one of the main reasons why christianity survives well enough in this modern era is that ........
most all christians cannot, for one second, percieve that atheism or skepticism can be brought on by earnest, spiritually truth-seeking individuals.
although given the option to see things that way, they tell themselves that that kind of thought is satan's tool to draw people away from God and that those people are lost "in satan's lies."
it is one reason most christians don't want to concern themselves with the idea that christianity might not be true.
they were brought up to believe in christianity, and they have no particular reason why they would feel they need to question the faith themselves. and it becomes especially convienent the christianity decares such thought from satan, anyways.

I must disagree. I don't see all atheism as direct, deliberate opposition to God. I don't understand it, but I do think there are those who simply don't believe in God.
Just because I can't perceive it, doesn't mean I can make such a judgment about someone else's feelings.

I was not brought up in a Christian home. I followed many religions and spiritual pathsincluding atheism prior to researching and becoming a Christian. All I can say is I that Jesus has transformed me into a new & better person. Personally I think Christians use Satan as a scapegoat way too much. Peace :-)

Short answer: yes.
Long answer: No, with a but.
Atheism is simply the twisted outcome of a questioning of faith, a failure on the end of the individual to reconcile himself the existence of God. This failure to reconcile himself with God leads to the individual seeking fulfilment elsewhere.
Atheism is one such refuge, and the complete and utter denial of God is a tempting and lucrative view for many to take. God equates consequence, consequence equates punishment, punishment equates law, law eqautes restriction. Restriction, as we all know, is something we seek to avoid.
As to questioning faith... Atheism has no more to do with the questioning of one's faith any more than any other opposing belief has. In truth, these have next to nothing to do with the questioning of faith each and every man and woman ever has been faced with. This questioning of faith is inevitably brought on by that little thing we like to call "Life."
Meeting an Atheist might lead you to question your faith a little, but having that same Athiest hit you with his SUV going 80 miles an hour, paralyzing you from the waist down will make you question the existence of God millions of times more than any amount of anti-religious propaganda ever could.

Sorry, you failed the 1st attempt they provide in information. Correlation isn't reason. There are stupid people who're atheists and theist and there are staggering who're atheists and theists. in case you initiate with distinctive reasons for each subgroup, the Ockham's Razor those with integrity will bounce on you. think of in this, sociological surveys have consistently shown that a disproportionately severe style of fundamentalists have stepped forward technological expertise ranges.

That whole Satan thing works to make the believer into his own mind control cop. Any doubt at all is classed as Satan and surrounded by fear. It is a very effective brain washing method.

satan is the tool of religion ! Atheist did not create god either.
Live and learn; all the answers are waiting for those who disregard their backwards superstitions and stubborn clinging to
repeating the same insanity and use their good minds for honest justice and truth that benefits mankind . so far we are our own worst enemies.

Dear friend,
Reason is always Satan's tool. The one who lured humanity into knowledge will always encourage us to use our minds to grow our souls, rather than keeping us cowed with the logic of an abusive spouse ("I love you, baby, but you keep making me hurt you.")
All the best,
Laz

Heh... When I was growing up, I was told Satan's "final lie" would be "there is no God"...
Not sure if it's in the Bible or not, but you're totally correct. That's how they see it!
