I think the stories are false and are used by the news media to divide people from each other by appealing to the stupid and easily-led in order to sell more newspapers. Daily Wail readers love that kind of BS.

I am a Muslim American and I have been living in Egypt for the past 2 1/2 years. While I don't celebrate Xmas simply because it's not part of my religion, Egyptians are very facinated by Xmas, although they get a lot of things wrong about it, which I just find funny. While the Egyptian Orthodox Church celebrates Christmas on Jan 7 along with the other Orthodox Churches, in Arabic they call it "The Feast of the Birth". Muslims and Christians alike assign the title "Christmas" to the new year, oddly enough, and are quite fond of Santa Claus, whom they call "Baba Noel", even though they don't really know what his purpose is aside from Christmas mascot, lol. In the meantime, Christian foreigners here look in disgust at their Christmas being slaughtered by people who are trying to copy them and don't get it right. I find it all amusing.
P.S. I'm not offended by Christmas or anything. I just don't celebrate it just as Christians don't celebrate Eid.

Not at all, in fact some moderates congratulate their christian friends on Christmas eve or day and others celebrate it with them and especially if they're neighbours or close friends. Others believe that they should be clear about not celebrating it but only wishing Christians a happy Christmas and especially those who have little kids just so the kids wont get confused and know the difference between our celebrations and the Christian's. You will never hear a true Muslim complaining about a great day like Christmas day. It is a holy day dear and Muslims believe in all prophets especially Jesus and Moses. The day you find a Muslim who complains about it then know that he is not a true Muslim but a pretender who wishes to cause problems.

Not everyone follows Christmas....
If you want to celebrate it, do so, why should it bother them.
By what you have said, that's something strange :S I've never heard something like that..... the Muslims in the UK are normal with it, what can they say, it's your beliefs.... it's not getting in their way.... but if it doe get in their way, then that might cause a problem......
Muslims are against Christmas, because they don't believe that Jesus was born/died on that day, and the Christians are making stories up about him, and lies. Thats probably why. They don't like it when others lie, and make up stories and what not about their Prophets, especially Muhammad, after that Jesus.
I'm not offended by it at all....

You know what, over at this side of the world where I lived, each year for Christmas we have parties, lunches, dinners and even barbecues over at our Christian friends house...and also the exchanging of gifts. Same goes when are are celebrating Eids, we held OPEN HOUSE, inviting families and friends------be it Christians, Sikh, Hindus. Hey, not a problem with that at all. I tell you this....it is Fun!

no. we are fine.
truthfully, in the christmas eve and on christmas day, muslim youth organizations (along with police, of course) stand guard ALL churchs and neighbourhoods throughout our nation. while their fellow christians are celebrating mass sermons and or leaving their houses un-attended.
peace.
