What evolutionary advantage could religion provide?

All right, now I will be honest about this beginning part. I grew up and was raised in a Christian conservative household - red-blooded Republicans all the way. I now am still a Christian (although I focus more on spirituality than religion, but I do attend church every week) but am an independent with more liberal tendencies. My question goes out to the rest of the conservative Christians...

How can conservatives, who pride themselves on being Christians, be pro-death penalty. Wasn't Jesus pretty forgiving? I mean, the whole cast-the-first-stone/dying-on-the-cross-for-our-redemption thing...didn't that show that he probably doesn't want a bunch of sinful humans deciding the fate of other sinners?

Just a curious question...

How do you think the definition of this now well known institution has been altered since it first arose?

Are you aware of any cross cultural differences or changes that have taken place over the past few hundred years?

(I recognize this is likely to be entirely speculation, but I'm curious what ideas arise from your pondering the question.)

Is it some sort of trial of the fittest?
Would God prefer multiple ways of worshipping him/her anyway?
Or is all the hatred born of human weakness and misinturpretation of the word?
CAN SOMEONE BE A JEW, A MUSLIM, and A CHRISTIAN?
(aside from the Bah'ai)
Thoughts? Opinions?

'Surely, they have disbelieved who say: "Allah is the Messiah ['Iesa (Jesus)], son of Maryam (Mary)." But the Messiah ['Iesa (Jesus)] said: "O Children of Israel! Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Verily, whosoever sets up partners in worship with Allah, then Allah has forbidden Paradise for him, and the Fire will be his abode. And for the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers) there are no helpers.' (Qur'an 5:72)

'Surely, disbelievers are those who said: "Allah is the third of the three (in a Trinity)." But there is no ilah (god) (none who has the right to be worshipped) but One Ilah (God -Allah). And if they cease not from what they say, verily, a painful torment will befall the disbelievers among them.' (Qur'an 5:73)

A Christian Egyptian Surgeon told me that in the 60's when he was near a mosque in Egypt that Muslims were leaving after their services, that all they wanted to do was stick a knife in the heart of a Christian or Jew.

None of the Prophets ever mentioned the trinity. Please research the history of where this idea came from. The earliest followers of Jesus were unitarian.

'And if he (Muhammad SAW) had forged a false saying concerning Us (Allah جل جلاله'
'We surely should have seized him by his right hand (or with power and might),
'And then certainly should have cut off his life artery (Aorta),
And none of you could withhold Us from (punishing) him
And verily, this Quran is a Reminder for the Muttaqun (pious) (69:44-48)

Jesus can turn water into wine. God can only turn beer into water:

Num 21:16 And from thence [they went] to Beer: that [is] the well whereof the LORD spake unto Moses, Gather the people together, and I will give them water.

Near my house in San Diego, CA, US, there is a Catholic church with a life-size marble statue of Jesus in front of it. The other night, vandals spray painted it with graffiti, including satanic symbols.

I would like to hear your story about God is faithful and promised to us according to His will. Also, I like to hear some real exciting news such ad your baby or family to live from chronic illness...., someone you met and loved you( became spouses), He gave your fortunes back, or to escape out of danger and keep safe from unknown angels.

I like Kripy Kremes because they taste great, are less filling and don't require ketchup on the side. That ketchup stuff can be messy and time consuming, especially if you are somebody who works. Plus ketchup is a secret scam made up by the government, they want you eating it! See my questions for details.

Also, I like them because they go well with green beans and nobody has ever tried to hurt somebody with krispy kremes that I know of so I guess they are really peaceful. By that logic, If we were all krispy kremes there would be world peace and everyone would taste great!

Other than that, I like them because you dont need to mix them with mayonaisse and green onion like a can of tuna, that can be a real pain in the butt. They are fine the way they are!

Also, I knew someone with a krispy kreme hat and another guy with a krispy kreme coffee travel mug. Both of them were real nice, and they were not even the same person, even though they both play golf.

Plus theres lots of selection so every day you can choose something different and you wont have the same one for like 3 weeks. I wish lots of things were like that!!

I have done alot of research and know that Islam, Mormonism, Christianity, Buddhism and other religions all claim to be the one true "truth!" They all say that the others are false, so wouldn't it make sense that one of them is actually true, and if so, which one?
