Ok, an old man was on his death bed. So he called his doctor and his lawyer to come in.

He took the doctor with his right hand and the lawyer by his left.
About 5 minutes passed by and the doctor said "look I get paid thousands of dollars for minor surgical procedures....what do you want?"

Then, the lawyer said, "look I get paid $400 an hour to stand in court. Hurry up old man, and tell me what you want!"

The old man says " I want to die like Jesus, between 2 theives"

AHAHHAaa

young girls as well during that time.as it was the custom of men to marry once girls hit puberty.of course nowadays its gross for a man to marry a girl once she hits puberty.

so how can you judge people from 1400 years ago by today's standards.mabye in a couple of 100 years having sex with a 18 year old will seem gross.

you know they are constantly here monitoring this site and trying to convert everyone to their beliefs, and feel compelled to tell everyone how they are saved and others aren't. Isn't it fun?

asalamwalaikum,
in Iran and Saudi which both claim to derive their law from Quran and Hadith, adultery is punishable by death. However, in reading Quran i have read (4:15) that a woman is supposed to be kept in her house if she commits adultery and not killed.

4:15 Those who commit adultery among your women, you must have four witnesses against them, from among you. If they do bear witness, then you shall keep such women in their homes until they die, or until GOD creates an exit for them.*

although many Hadiths are considered weak or invalid, the Qur'an has never been changed.

***My question is, why would a law be decided by Hadith when the Qur'an says otherwise? any opinions?

Peace and blessings to all,
Sakina

ps i do not know Arabic yet.... so if my problem is the translation, please let me know

Imagine a man who selfishly robbed people all his life and even killed people, just to take what he wanted from others. He stands before you about to be executed for his crimes. Is he going to Hell for not being a good person like the rest of us? GOOD CHURCH GOING PEOPLE GO TO HEAVEN AND BAD SINFUL PEOPLE GO TO HELL,,, RIGHT? WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SAY TO THIS MURDERING THIEF? ON THE DAY OF HIS CRUCIFIXION, JESUS SAID "THIS DAY YOU WILL BE WITH ME IN PARADISE." Jesus said that to the thief on the cross next to him. DID THE THIEF SAY HE WAS SORRY FOR WHAT HE HAD DONE? NO!!! DID THE THIEF GET BAPTIZED OR GO TO CHURCH? NO!!!! Jesus did not condemn this man, and we as Christians have no right to condemn others, we also have no right to tell people if you dont go to church or get baptized you will go to hell, the Bible will not back that up. The thief confessed that he believed in Christ, and he was saved PERIOD!!! Agree?

i have the read the bible from beginning to end at least a few times over and cannot bring myself to believe to it is not a myth.

don't get me wrong,
i want god to exist.
I want there to be a reason for the good and bad things in this world.
i want there to be happiness brought to those who are good and punishment to those who were wicked.
I, perhaps selfishly, want to spend an eternity in heaven experiencing whatever kind of awesome goodness and happiness the bible seems to hint at it being like.

Paul Verhoeven who made Showgirls, Robocop and Starship Troopers is risking death threats to make a movie called "Christ, the Man" theorizing that Jesus may have been a regular ol' dude and not the Son of God. Verhoeven knows the controversy that surrounds the project, and probably knows that it could become his last film in the States.

Those who believe in the bible, know the prophecy of babylon the great being destroyed. Which represents false religion destroyed by the world governments. Until few years ago, I wondered how or what would motivate it. The bible says God puts in their hearts and forces them to do it. I think "our" explanation when it happens will be due to terrorism and to gain world peace. Right now the situation in Iraq looks hopeless with the civil war, and I think things will happen worldwide that will make them say, enough is enough and ban religion worldwide. This also ties in w/ the bible says before God brings judgement and destroys those not serving him, man will be crying out, "Peace and Security!". Anyway, how do you think this will happen?

I have been reading Sylvia Browne and I have finally found someone who believes the same as i do. We plan our lives out before we even are born. We can change things, of course, and we make mistakes, but for the most part follow the plan we designed while "Home" or in "Heaven". If you believe this, please let me know. I would love ot talk about it. I also believe in guardian angels. I have three, right now, and I have seen my childrens. Do you believe?
