yes brother this is a very good question. i can tell u based on my understanding of religion. i know there's a big concept that looks upon masturbation as a release. i believe this is largely a concept brought upon by western minds n psychologists. but in hinduism it is otherwise. i must state that this one religion where there is no imposement, but only encouragement, eg. it says u should avoid meat becoz u'll suffer karma, but if u eat it doesn't mean u r deposed of the religion.
Here, the concept is semen is said to b one of the most concentrated fluid/ energy in our body. releasing this is a great waste of ur energy, as the essence of it is accumulated from food over months. so for spritual aspirants it is advised they practise bhramacharya(meaning celibacy, but also means a lot of other disciplines as well). n this energy is required for spiritual progression(thats a whole topic itself involving yoga n kundalini). so how do we control the sexual urges? we convert our focus to other activities, sports, art. keep ourselves busy n we can conserve this great energy n use it to achieve greater things

Every man I have talked to and several women participate in fulfilling their own desires. I am starting to believe that it is human nature...
I do not feel that it is sinful, however if you are married and are visualizing another partner, this is lust, which is sinful. If you are single, masterbation is better than having sex with someone you don't love. you have to think about your own morals here.

I do not believe that doing something that is natural is wrong. We are sexual beings and when you do not release the excess energy it finds a way out.

Sexual Sin

Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: Colossians 3:12

No one is immune to lust's insidious influence. It lures both men and women alike with promises of pleasure. But in the end it only brings destruction. Lust is that God-given desire for intimacy that has gone haywire, manifesting itself in a physical attraction that leads to illicit action. Whether you deal with lust in so-called "recreational" forms or have actually put skin on it by contemplating an affair, you have dealt with lust in some shape, form, or fashion. Lust's strong and powerful influence drives many Christ-followers to hide in shame. The person who is leveled by lust pretends to follow one path outwardly while inside he or she is a slave to a destructive addiction.

If you find yourself caught in the lure of lust, there is good news for you. God's message to you today is one of hope, not shame. No matter where you are in the grip of lust, there is hope for you. By the grace and power of God, you can walk in purity.

But you cannot handle the strength of lust alone. You must turn it over to God, forcing the power of lust to fade as it is dragged out into the light of His truth. It's time to get honest with God about the problem in your life.

This week, start breaking down lust's hold on you by listing out the areas of vulnerability in your life, those trigger points that cause you to lust--geographically, technologically, relationally, mentally, etc. And then write out the consequences of giving in to those trigger points. How will giving into that area of lust affect your marriage, your family, your career, and your faith? Facing the sobering truth about the consequences of lustful thoughts and activities will go a long way toward exposing the darkness of lust to the light. You can walk in purity, but first you must be willing to get honest to God.

Any religion which considers it sinful is too silly to tolerate. Everybody does it.
