What is it that determines good or evil??
1. What I personally think is good or evil?
2. What we collectively think?
3. Determined by God or some higher authority?
4. Different answer.
These are the only options I can think of. If you say #2 then comment on how a country's laws should be formed by the collective opinion..

Did you know that the rejection of statues and other images in Church devotional life is a heresy known as iconoclasm? Did you know that in the Second Council of Nicea in AD 787, the Church condemned this as heresy. It didn't return until the protestant reformation.

i realize that christians follow a war god known to some as jehovah and to others as the iam god. but what would it prove to you if christians took over the world and what would it solve?

heres what i think ending the world wouldnt solve anything ending christianity would solve the hatred and the religious wars that are going on in our own back yards and may even solve some of the nasty so called "non true christian" joke since if you call your self a christian you are a christian no matter what..

for those who think i am a atheist.. get a clue i am a SPIRITUALIST with a brain to know that christianity isnt a religion for me

Do you feel like this is a struggle between Good and Evil that has been going on since time began, or just people talking to one another about a hypothetical man in the sky that really isn't there?

It seems that God explains the unexplainable...

How did the universe come about? God created it.

But the loose end is now just a different one. Who created God?

Like,

GOD will open the floodgates of heaven and bless his children?

If so, why are there so many broke/poor church goers?

that not all of Christianity believe in the trinity?
I've noticed that one of the questions that is always repeated on here is 'Christians... do you really believe in 3 gods??'
Which would imply that they think it is characteristic of all christian sects. Do they, for that matter, realize that christianity is divided into hundreds of different sects??

*I really want to know this answer and please, I don't want any rudeness from any people who claim to be christian. Just the facts, please :)

I mean...there's so many races, but most of them don't get a fair bargain. Most kids have to suffer until they're too old to remember what it was when they thought they were perfect, as in when they were real small. What d'you think? And if he is, what does he use to determine who gets the worse end of the deal?

If there is no God, how do you explain prophesies especially the biblical ones that come true. How can one see, or prophesy a future if the world was created by chance.

creature, planet, galaxy and the universe we live in today was created by what people believe to be known as God. God in my view is nothing more then a dreamt up character in the story to answer mans quest to find the meaning of their existence. We weren't created by God nor were the planets or anything else for that matter, there is no heaven or hell. All these things have been created in the minds of man.It baffles me to think that people still in this day in age believe that God is solely responsible for creating the vastness of the universe in 6 days. Please please don’t get me wrong as i'm not trying to say that believers are any way wrong and that this question isn't intended to offend anyone but I just don’t understand why man has labelled God as the creator? And when someone questions God existence people are enraged by it? Why is it so hard for people to believe that the universe has always been here including man and all the creatures in the world?

I believe in God, or a God.

I have been told on many occasions that if I dont believe and worship christ, then I will not be going to heaven.

If god is so nice and benevolent, why would he not allow all nice people to go to heaven. Instead it seems he will deny access to some good people, and allow some repentant sinners.

THIS IS THE IMPORTANT BIT

Say I am (Im not) a tribesperson from another country that has not been exposed to the Bible or Jesus' teachings.

I may have lived a life holier than a westerner might seem possible.

If such a person dies, without having acknowledged or believed in Christ, then he will not go to heaven???

Is this God so nice and benevolent after all?
