Mormon....
They teach error. A lot of teachings are not found in the Holy Bible. They have another book the Book of Mormon..which is not scripture.
I believe they are a cult.
I am familiar with Mormonism a little. The facts that I know personally I learned when the Mormons knocked on my door and I let them in. We had numerous meetings and they told me what they believed. I wasn't a Christian at the time.
They believe in levels of heaven. How much you work in church service determines the level you go to.
Women's main role is to bear children...this will get her a better level in heaven. If she doesn't use birthcontrol and has many children, she will get to a better spot.
They believe they are to work hard and will eventually become gods.
They believe Jesus was not God...just a god.
They want to get away from being called "Mormon" to being called the "Church of Jesus Christ....Latter Day Saints" because they are more accepted by people that don't know the Bible if they have the name Jesus in it.
They teach that people are to accept the Bible....and their false book.
They teach that we should pray about weather or not God wants us to join their church. God will reveal his will to us by "feelings". We will have a peace about everything.
They are very family oriented...that makes them very appealing to those that don't know the truth. They have family nights, dinners...it is very social and attractive to those that want that type of atmosphere.
The other book they have is written by Joseph Smith...
He was a crook trying to escape the law and he made up many things and duped many people.
They intensely follow genealogy because they believe only people that belong to the "lost tribe" are going to heaven...they believe by proving genealogy, they can link their member to the lost tribe.
If someone is dies and wasn't a member, they can and do...baptize for the dead.
You must tithe 10 percent of your income. If you want to be a member, they ask you to give them copies of your last 2 months income...then you must promise to give 10 percent.

Well now, that depends... are you LDS just looking for someone to back you up? Doesn't matter, I won't say anything mean, you just want the facts lol.OK
Joseph Smith was their founder and he claimed that he had found golden tablets that told the story of Christ coming to America after his death to witness to native americans. Said that an angel helped him translate those tablets. That translation became the Book of Mormon. Tablets have since disappeard.
They also teach that native americans, rather than crossing from the Bering Strait, came from the mideast in a boat.
That's all I know as fact, the rest would probably be considered hearsay.

As a sign-writer friend of mine once said, 'They are the best business in the area.''
They have re-branded from the Mormons because of the bad opinion that church got. However they are a cult which exercises some very divisive methods and breaks up families. I am naturally suspicious of any religion which does not accept or respect another person's right to worship elsewhere.

I am a LDS, so here is my answer for being a LDS member for 30years.
LDS has very high family values.
they support boyscouts. They believe marriage and family can be forever.
They sent out missionaries all over the world, and missionaries pay for their own way in the mission.
there is more, but these will do for now.
LDS Church leaders all serve in their position without any pay.
it is all voluntary.

It is another cvasi-cristian sect built on some person's fantasies. It has no other basis whatsoever. The South Park episode dedicated to this was very good.

They are a very nice group of people. They will help their members in everyway possible. Without that church I wouldn't have had the wonderful wedding I did.

It is one of the most amazing congregations you could join, they are very loving and caring people. And have good standards.
They believe that when Jesus resurrected he visited other places. He said in the new testemant, "I have other sheep to tend to".

I don't know enough about them to really have an opinion other than I dislike their missionaries knocking on my door trying to convert me.
I do know many traditional Christian groups consider LDS to be heretics.
