I am happy to believe in God, or a God.

I find it hard to believe in the holy trinity. I find it hard to believe in resurrection of Jesus.

So without any evidence or solid proof, why do some religious believers feel so comfortable in saying that everyone else is off the mark?

I am not just referring to Christians, I am equally puzzled by the Muslim beliefs, especially as the net result of both is a lot of bloodshed over the entire history of the world.

So who is really off the mark. Dont forget, Christians must also believe that God created the Muslims. How do you work through that?

Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." Genesis 1:26

Whether you believe in Creationism or not, why would God require worship rather than, say, polite acknowledgement, or a friendly nod?

I'm a bit lost on this one. I believe the KJV Bible and everything in it. Though I sin, and sometimes go against what is in the bible, that does not mean I don't believe the Bible/God's word and that Jesus died on the cross for my sins. With that being said, where in the Bible does it mention the Pope or Purgatory? It is just me or does the Catholic church need to reread the Bible?

Why do they feel they have to tell other people what they think about Jesus etc...? And why do they speak in riddles? And why do they tend to cite sentences from the bible which are 100% unintelligible? In my country (catholic), religious people are nice and soft, and don't annoy other ones...

If intelligent design is correct, it does not mean that Christians are right!

Neither does it mean that god is watching over us.

Any comments?

Willys cynical thought for the day;

If you're not annoying somebody you are a boring, worthless freaking dimwit!

Murphy showed up at Mass one Sunday and the priest almost fell down when he saw him. Murphy had never been seen in church in his life. After Mass, the priest caught Murphy and said, "Murphy, I am so glad you decided to come to Mass, what made you come?"

Murphy said, "I got to be honest with you Father. A while back, I misplaced me hat and I really, really love that hat. I know that McGlynn had a hat just like me hat, and I knew that McGlynn came to church every Sunday. I also knew that McGlynn had to take off his hat during Mass and I figured he would leave it in the back of church. So, I was going to leave after Communion and steal McGlynn's hat."

The priest said, "Well, Murphy, I notice that you didn't steal McGlynn's hat. What changed your mind?"

Murphy said, "Well, after I heard your sermon on the 10 commandments, I decided that I didn't need to steal McGlynn's hat."

The priest gave Murphy a big smile and said, "After I talked about 'Thou Shalt Not Steal' you decided you would rather do without your hat than burn in Hell, right?"

Murphy shook his head and said, "No, Father, after you talked about 'Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery' I remembered where I left my hat."

On the 12th of February, 1809 nearly 200 years ago - a young, poor illiterate woman in Virginia named Nancy Hanks Lincoln, gave birth to a son in a log cabin built along the banks of the south fork of Nolin Creek, near what is now Hodgenville, Kentucky. That baby, whom she named Abraham, grew to become one of our greatest, and most tragic, national leaders.
Lincoln was the only American President not to have declared himself a member of any particular faith. This fact has given rise to much speculation. In fact, there are those who believe honest Abe was Jewish.
His name was Abraham. His great grandfather was named Mordechai. He was neither raised in a church nor did he ever belong to a church.
When he was assassinated, whole Jewish communities sat shiva. Rabbi Isaac Mayer Wise, who created Reform Judaism, eulogized the fallen President.
When questioned on his religious beliefs, Abe recommended every American study, learn & follow Exodus chapter 20, known as the 10 Commandments.
