Genesis is rapidly being eroded away by science, how much longer do you think it will be before the book is removed from the Bible and replaced by something more credible?

If god loves us so much why does he kill our loved ones before they are really intended to die. For example my mother died when I was two. If god so called "loves" everyone then why did he take my mother away? Also why does everyone say that Jesus was a god. He was a shepard who believe everyone should love eachother, he controdicted the theory of "An eye for an eye" He was a shepard who got alot of followers to believe in him, not a god.

i spent many years in the church and in what I believed to be an authentic relationship with Christ. However, over time and a series of hurts, spiritual abuse and hardening of the heart I drifted away. Bitterness took root and I threw in the towel. But I still believe, though I have been in much sin. I also quite gunshy about the church as an organization. I had some really hurtful and bad expereinces. I am not blaming just stating how I expereinced it. Also I never found the strength to successfully overcome lust. I did come out of a evangelical church and worked for 15 years as a volunteer for a Christian charity.

Do you think scripture still allows for me to be a candidate for God's grace?

Since creationists cannot support their claim that "God did it," isn't any other unsupported claim just as valid?

Isn't claiming monkeys created the universe just as valid as "God did it?"

If not, why not?

Buddhism contends that the more sex one has, the more he or she wants it. And therefore, people should not have it. Obviously buddhism does not think of sex as something necessary. But it is often compared with desire for food. people can not exisit without food, then what about sex?

what I believe is there is no GOD, just we are here because of coincidence, something beyond our imagination is controlling everything, which we just can't define or explain. We are just a fruit of this universe(unknown), in to which we are going to merge one day, so why to fight amongst each other on religion basis.........just enjoy the nature(many fruits of universe)........let the train go and fly........

I mean, sure the old testament says that fathers can sell there daughters into slavery. And yes there are things about husbands killing there wives. But mormons belive that you inherit a planet when you die, and its the wifes job to be forever pregnant to populate that planet. How is that fair? haha i've never had a kid, and I want some, but I don't want to have them FOREVER!

The cockroach is one of the earliest known animals with a history reaching back over 100 million years. The Jelly Fish perhaps has a history much longer than the roach. If Darwin's theory of evolution is accurate then why are they still here? Why did they not evolve into something new and improved?

Well on the news tonight - he was quoted as saying he wants to "restore christian values...especially regarding abortion and homosexuality" Well I thought that christians supported a god who 'loves everyone' hmmm well then isn't the pope contradicting the bible in this case...?

As a Scientologist and an Athiest...I really dont like the continual contradiction that is christianity and those who defend it....its insane...Im gay as well.

Now guys, i want to pick up something ive been haring on this board for a while now. Alot of Fundamentalists talk about 'Intelligent Design' and God leading Evolution, but surely this is just a desperate attempt for Religion, in this case Christianity, to try and make itself seem viable?
All im seeing is Religion latching on to scientific ideas in what looks like a last ditch, quite pathetic, attempt to salvage some sort of credibility.

And Yes, im an Atheist. So please dont reply in Chapter and Verse, its non-sensical and about as good as quoting Harry Potter.

When it comes to "sin", is it really possible to be 100% pure?

I think the big problem when it comes to sin is that most of us arent able to forgive ourselves.. but if we believe in God/Jesus, whoever your God is, do you think THEY hold a grudge?

I know like most people I had regrets, and I would think that I am a horrible person who is unworthy of anything good in my life, and I should be punished for everything I did. Is that really any way to live? Wouldn't life be more pleasant if we could just forgive ourselves for our mistakes, and not judge so harshly?
