The cockroach is one of the earliest known animals with a history reaching back over 100 million years. The Jelly Fish perhaps has a history much longer than the roach. If Darwin's theory of evolution is accurate then why are they still here? Why did they not evolve into something new and improved?

cockroaches and jellyfish haven't changed because nature believes in the old adage "if it works, don't fix it" LOL

It's good to debate but it's not good to debate when you're trying to disprove something that's real!!! I want everyone of you little dick heads who said Evolution is a lie to IM me at rm2kdark_lord on Yahoo Messenger so I can shove the truth up your ***!!!!

Now that I've said that, here's my piece.

Evolution does exist, if it didn't there would be no humans no dinosaurs no anything. We'd all still be single celled organisms. If there was no evolution then the world wouldn't be stable enough to withstand it so our being would not be anymore than microscopic.

To answer why certain animals have yet to develope, I only have to show you the many kinds of Jellyfish in the ocean, there is not just one. Hell there are GIANT Jellyfish, there are tiny ones there are many. It is possible the Jellyfish has had no reson to evolve higher than the state it's in already. But Evolutuion takes a very long time.

Cockroaches, they are just creepy they have had no reason to evolve thouroughly either seeing as they seem to know how to not die so easily.

Proof of Evolution is in Apes and every other living creature. To save the Christian spat i will not say Man derived single-handedly from Apes. Maybe god so an oppertunity in that kind and that's where Creation of Cro-Magnan through Neanderthal came from. Who knows, although I know the answer to it already.

Proof is in the fossils of Dinosaurs. Look at the Daspletosaurus, an ancient forefather to Tyrannosaurus. I can safely assume they look like eachother, although millions of years apart, the only real evolution between Daspletosaurus and Tyrannosaurus would be Coloration, Size, and possible some new physical features weather it be a few new bumps here or there or not. Evolution is subtle it takes a long time for it to fully go into effect.

Apes have adapted to this world quite well, atleast the ancient Ape and when I say ape I don't mean Chimpanzees or Gorillas, those species are the species of today. When they evolve (if they get the chance to) They will not look like us in any way but the link of likeness. The ape that we came from looked different and was more adaptable to a humanless enviroment so it had an easier time of evolving into Neanderthal which wasn't a far reach of evolution since Neanderthal was still ape'ish.

Wether we sprang from Neanderthal or Apes is to be determines, but do not be ignorant in saying Evolution doesn't exist, I dare you, I DARE YOU to come to me and say that cause i will rip your ******* religion in half if i have to just to over state the ******* facts!!!

Simple Answer - there was no need for them to evolve.

First of all you should understand what evolution means - it means that a particular species change according to the environment to survive and make sure that the species survive in to millions of years to come. Even crocodiles are said to be here from the day of the Dinosaurs. They have well adopted to the environment and they survived these years - the Ceilkanth (I hope I spelled this right) survived millions of years - But they also were the evolution link to some other species in some parts of the world that did not suit them. May be it's a cockroach that evolved in to some kind of a bug in some part of the world because of the environment.

Also to answer Melvin - May be it could happen in years to come - evolution does not happen over night - May be you could think on those lines and learn what evolution is before you call others Idiots. Also the humans as you have mentioned, one mught like to fly whilst the other would like to dive - where do we evolve to - Flying Walking fish ??some who can fly and some who can dive ? many ways to think - better learn yout ABC first - be smart man.

Evolution works in a way in which traits that are needed to improve a species carry on while traits that hold it down becomes victim of natural selection. Our species (Homo sapiens) is actually fairly new being that it's only estimated to have been around for the last 200,000 years. In comparison to the cockroach, imagine taking a ruler to mark the length of 100 million years and see just how small a length 200,000 years would be. While we faced more obstacles in our evolution, the cockroach is fairly basic and as the saying goes, if it isn't broke, don't fix it. Well that's the best path for the roach, however for other species, it is the need to adapt to changing conditions that makes for evolution.

Irreducible complexity is the answer. What cannot be reduced down to its simplest form without ceasing to function or survive was designed that way. Think of Kangaroos and their gestestional cycle..the only animal on the planet that can have an embryo hang out in suspended animation so that it doesn't go to waste. Then there are bodily mechinisms from the eye down to the so called "simple" cell. At what point did these systems become useful? Think of some of the other life forms on the planet...look up the relationship between water lillies and the water beetle. At what point did a dophins DNA "tell" it to develope sonar to utilize sound waves..that are unseen and unfelt? Or for plants to photosynthesise to the extent that some open and close or turn toward the sun throughout the day. There is no evolution..there is design...intricate detailed ordered design that is chaos controlled by a power so infinante and vast ...so way beyond our scope of thinking that we can but barely touch on the possibility of it..so we do what? We whittle it down into smaller more compact terms and call it science. Its not science..science is the act of seeking knowledge by means of further study. Study God and then you will have all the answers you need. Love in Christ, ~J~ <>< Sorry..I'm just nutty and passionate for creation...I love this earth and all the really cool things that are in it...I love God for being that so totally awesome that He thought this stuff up that is so cool and still thinks someone like me is the best of His creation...wow..what an awesome thought.

The Cockroach is (discustingly) an extreme species that has evolved over many years with an exo-skeleton. The jelly fish that may have an equal history cannot live in your house and under extreme circumstances like radiation, invade your surroundings like your computer and make your life total hell. Roaches can be killed with the right stuff. RAID!!!!!! Jellyfish have probably been exposed to radiation, but get real_ they are just a bunch of goo with electron brains, no real being but just to float, eat and defend it'self against predators. Sounds like a bunch of teen-agers huh?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Cockroaches are highly efficient and well adapted to the niches they occupy. There are also hundreds of cockroach species adapted to different places and situations (who says they haven't evolved?). But if a species fits very well into its environment and can make maximum use of the resources available to it and can reproduce effectively, evolution might not facilitate an easy change unless there were a significant and marked improvement in being able to exploit its opportunities, or to put it in simpler terms...newer isn't necessarily better, better is better.

Finding a more successful and more adaptable multi-celled organism than a cockroach might be difficult if not impossible.

(similar arguments might be made for jellyfish which are actually colonies of many smaller, very specialized organisms)

Evolution in animals is based on their environment. If a Jelly fish or a roach needs not change it's form/abilities to survive, it most likely will not.

Human beings are different, we have free will to evolve.

Because evolution is a theory and we don't know for sure but are just guesstimating these time frames. But we can say for certain that the world has only been around for a split second if you look at the universe as a whole, therefore we may never know. Ive been growing a third leg I wonder if that counts?

This is similar to the question "If we evolved from Monkeys, why are there still monkeys?". Honestly, have you ever bothered to study evolution? Can't you just take a weekend and read one little book on the subject before asking these old questions that have been asked and answered a thousand times over?

Joe Carioca is right, animals dont evolve if we dont need to. Cockroaches are among the most formidable insects going, i think an animal that can survive Nuclear Fallout is definatly on a winnign streak, dont you?

Melvin
Humans will never develop wings, or live udnerwater, or any of that rubbish. Why? Because we evolved to be intelligent, we have planes and submarines to do that for us. Think of it, we are certainly one of the most 'perfect' animals..we compensate for our weaknesses with technology
