Now guys, i want to pick up something ive been haring on this board for a while now. Alot of Fundamentalists talk about 'Intelligent Design' and God leading Evolution, but surely this is just a desperate attempt for Religion, in this case Christianity, to try and make itself seem viable?
All im seeing is Religion latching on to scientific ideas in what looks like a last ditch, quite pathetic, attempt to salvage some sort of credibility.

And Yes, im an Atheist. So please dont reply in Chapter and Verse, its non-sensical and about as good as quoting Harry Potter.

BROTHERMICHAEL
If Atheism is on the run then tell me, why is the population of Europe calling itself Christian falling at a staggering rate? Im British btw.
Secondly, i accept Evolution is an idea, but many scientists still adher to its beliefes as one of the most plausable. What else is their, that a creator god made us?
Their is evidence to be found, fossils and ancient skeletons can show us how creatures have adapted and changed over millions of years.

Unfortunately human nature is such that many people are not so much interested in what can be logically supported but in what feels good - e.g. the idea that there might be life after death (an oxymoron if ever I heard one) or a supernatural father figure 'up there' to watch over them and help them out in life if only they worship / pray / believe in just the right way.

So, whilst you're absolutely right about religion desperately latching onto anything that they can twist to their own ends, a lot of people won't necessarily see that because they don't *want* to see that.

You know, saying Science is fighting a war against religion, really only looks like you are setting Science up as a religion. They're not in the same category. Science itself is not fighting that war... science is only there to find the facts of our life here.

And I wonder... do you consider Parapsychology a science?

Short answer: No.

People in general still need something to believe in to make life seem worth something. Since you can't believe in science (It has more questions than answers), then they will always fall back to some god like figure. Maybe once science figures it all out, then people will move away from it, but it will be a looooong time before that happens.

I didn't know there was another war going on! Jesus mentioned there would be wars and rumors of wars towards the end of this system of things.
Anyway, back in 1969.Professor of Biology Dean H. Kenyon coauthored a study called 'Biochemical Predestination. He concluded unassisted matter and energy could not organize themselves into living matter.(There seems to be some type of problem with how the first protein and DNA molecules came into existence and then how did they bond or something like that. You know we Christians aren't too swift when it come to dem"siotific stuff")
If I could suspend my belief in science and accept science fiction I could be persuaded to join your side.

Christianity, like all those that came before, is a dying religion.

It has already substantially changed from what it was 50 years ago.

And, it will continue to decline until "Christians" are some isolated sects conjuring up spells in remote areas.

Religion is based on ignorance & superstition, so as long as people have the opportunity for education, religions will always be coming & going based on current events.

By science, I am assuming you mean evolution, which of course, is not science, but a belief based on faith. It is not testable or repeatable in a control scientific environment and therefore cannot be proven by scientific methods. Actually, you have things completely backwards. Evolutionary thought is the one on the run. Much of academia has been backing away from Darwinian evolution for some time now. They have seen that it is a flawed hypothesis and there has yet to be any compelling evidence supporting it which tips the scales to its favor. And by the way, evolution is the late comer here, having only been around for less then 200 yrs. while the belief in creation has been here for several thousand. It is the atheists who are desperately trying to hold this feeble house of cards up, but it is crumbling. Actually, it is atheism that is losing credibility, big time. There a relatively few of you and your numbers are shrinking. Ever here of Antony Flue? He was a big time atheist, probably the high priest of your religion. Last year, he made the pronouncement that after examining the DNA evidence, he was convinced that evolution could not have happened, no way, no how. I have the article where he basically denounces evolution for the fraud and hoax it is. I could send you to some books and web sights that clearly lays out the evidence supporting creation. But, being a typical atheist, you are closed minded and refuse to even consider it a possibility so maybe you should go back to reading Harry Potter.

Yes, the truth and the search for it will always win in the end.

haha okay now you pushing it your insulting my religoin and my second favorite book lol, but seriously though intelligent design is a missleading thing. It didn't happen like that at all. God created everythnig in 6 days yes 6 litteral days. He obviously created things with the appearance of time otherwise eggs and such would never hatch, because nothing would be there to warm them and the babies would die, because nobody would be there to feed them. Also if you think about it all those starts you see are how many light years away we still wouldn't be able to see all those stars if he didn't give things the appearance of age. Yes I believe God made the universe and everything in it, and I believe it was all inteligent design, but to say that God made evolution is just retarted. I always though evolution was the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. I am a math and science geek from way back before I was a Christina and the arguments for evolution just don't hold up it doesn't make any sense. At least religion doesn't offer total retrarded logic as so called proof we admit it takes faith which at least is honest. Good luck if I am wrong so what I have good rules to live by if your wrong you will wind up in Hell think about that for a minute or two its worth thinking about maybe you could try to read some of the bible or talk to some Christian people it might change your life it did mine. I didn't really believe in God untill college, but like I said I always thought evelotion was crap lol.

you should know. some of your questions can be answered like this one. Christianity is taken completely on Faith. why would God give us facts to prove his existence if our test if to have Faith in him? We don't need scientific proof. but in my opinion there is some all around us. you never will understand our belief.
