Many people live fairly religiously always in fear of going to Hell or fearing God's wrath. Is it really worth it? To waste your lifetime going to church and praying and not experiencing life? I understand not all religions are like this, but there are many that require certain roles including the Pope and bishops. These roles cannot get married, or go to a bar with friends.. They have committed their life to religion and I think that's somewhat of a waste of life. I have nothing against the Pope or any religion, I just think they deserve a little fun here and there just like everyone else.

.....and is capable of killing the Spanish influenza virus before it killed off twenty million people. Why didn't He? Is it because He's not perfectly good?

If God exists, a being who is all-powerful and perfectly good, then this being must somehow ensure our world is perfectly good. The only way He can do this is to make all of the apparent evils we see in the world into means to a greater good. For example, the pain of a vaccination is in itself bad, but is a means to a greater good. Thus, if God exists, we must have evidence that all of the evils we see are means to a greater good. But even theists admit there is no evidence. That is why they must resort to talking about the mysterious ways in which God works. There's no evidence at all, for example, that twenty million people dying from Spanish influenza is for a greater good. The conclusion follows that God probably does not exist.

Or is it a Mystery we wont understand until we die?

I have read the comments of many Christians who find it very distasteful that many Middle Eastern countries are theocratic. In other words, their laws are greatly based on their strong religious beliefs. These same Christians claim they want to see Democracy replace the current governments in the Middle East.

Why, then, is there a clear agenda in this country to forgo some of the basic concepts of the Constitiution and replace them with Christian dogma?

How long would it take you? 6 days?
Would you plant fake fossils?
Would you make the world appear to be Billions of years old, instead of the 6000 years you know it is? Why?

Can the masses evolve into a higher state of awareness about the things around them and then demand more from the "leaders"? We have new technologies that can change the world for the better but due to greed and power the large rich families like the Rothschilds and Rockefeller refuse to embrace them which in turn is holding mankind back. It is not that we can't do better, it is we have certain powers holding us back. They must be brought to the people's attention and dealt with. It is time for change. Watch this video. Dr Greer explains things pretty good. Spread this around so that mankind can start to evolve.

There is a nun that I see at the hospital where I work. She is very attractive and we have had many conversations in the hallways. I think she is attracted to me. She is always seeking me out and smiling at me and touching me. Now I am very attracted to her.

Do you think that I should ask her out. Not on a date, just for coffee or to see a movie or something.

Verily, only Islam is the Din (Religion) before Allah, and the men of Book did not dissent but after the knowledge had come to them, because of their hearts burning. And whoso denies the signs of Allah; then no doubt Allah is to call to account very soon. (Surah Al-i'Imran 19)

Christians can offer no evidence for their most important claim, that faith in Jesus Christ procures eternal life. Christians can't point to a single proven case of this prediction coming true. They cannot show a single believer in Jesus actually enjoying eternal life, nor can they demonstrate the probability of such a fortunate outcome arising from any choice we make today. Even if they could prove God exists and created the universe, it still would not follow that belief in Jesus saves us. Even if they could prove Jesus performed miracles, claimed to speak for God, and rose from the dead, it still would not follow that belief in Jesus saves us.

So knowing this as a Christian...how is it that just FAITH in a fairytale keeps you going? Why not have a belief in the great Money God...wouldnt that serve your purposes better?

Its like a peanut butter and tuna fish sandwich. There’s nothing wrong with either one seperately, but I don’t recommend mixing them together or you’ll end up with a really bad taste in your mouth. The same can be said of mixing religion and politics. There is no possible way to merge the two without them mutually polluting each other.

So what would you recommend? How do you keep the tuna fish taste (religion) out of politics?

He is one of those Seven Day Adventists. When I'm mowing my lawn on Saturday he waves at me as he and his family are leaving to church, he waves at me with a smirk on his face.

I'm going to flatten his tires next Saturday morning. That'll fix Mr. Smirk.
