my bf's grandparents go to "meeting" every sunday. they have no name for it as far as we know. they have yearly congregations, have these meetings in peoples houses and have no real preiests but instead have "workers". they believe that everyone who doesn't go to meeting will go to hell. any insight as to what this religion is would be helpful. and they won't really tell anyone much of anything else.

We were created to whorship somone else, and follow their rules. And there are severe punishments for not believing in them and not following their rules. But we didn't choose to exist, or sign a contract before we were born that said we would follow the rules. So it seems unfair to punish those people who simply don't agree with the thing that created them.
( it also seems wrong to force your kids to live by your beliefs instead of theirs. It's not their fault they exist, so they shouldn't have to follow arbritary rules that go beyond keeping them safe. )

religion in school, should we require and allow all religions to be taught and worshiped such as Satanism?
How about a class that covers all religions starting with ancient Egyptian religion and ending with Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddism, Hinduism, Satanism, and any other faith I left out and let people pray to whatever God or Gods they believe in and practice whatever method of prayer or ritual they practice even if it requires them to burn candles and draw pentagrams?A whole curriculum that caters to any and all faiths rather then the modern approach of keep faith and prayer in church and at home where it belongs..What do you think?

Was there more then one Race of humans?

Read what do you think? I have alway thought it was Roman Gentiles and the Jews, same as Jesus Christ was?
Reread the passage in Psalms 22 quoted above. At first glance, it might seem that the Roman soldiers were the dogs. After all, they were the ones who "pierced [his] hands and feet," they were the ones who "cast lots" for his clothes. Further weight is added to that idea when it is understood that "dogs" was a term Jews commonly applied to the gentile world who rejected the law of Moses. Therefore many today teach that the dogs referred to in Psalms 22 do not include the jews who made up the nation of Israel. But a quick study of the Bible proves that everyone who collaborated in the crucifixion of Jesus Christ was considered to be responsible for his crucifixion--the dogs who surrounded him, the assembly of the wicked who crucified Him. And Jews were certainly included in that group. All you have to do to see this for yourself is examine the sermon the Apostle Peter delivered on the day of Pentacost in the immediate aftermath of the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ. In Acts 22:36, Peter said, "Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified , both Lord and Christ."

Do you think there is one set of guidelines that everyone will be judged on? Or do you think that the situation and time you lived in will be taken into account? Like seriously if you lived in the 1800's your decisicions would be way different than now where pre-maritial sex is common place.

Dogs have surrounded me; a band of evil men has encircled me, they have pierced my hands and my feet. I can count all my bones; people stare and gloat over me. They divide my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing. Psalms 22:16-18

The KJV seems to say that God lies by proxy:

1 Kings 22:23
Now, therefore, behold, the Lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets, and the Lord hath spoken evil concerning thee.

2 Chronicles 18:22
Now therefore, behold, the Lord hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets.

Jeremiah 4:10
Ah, Lord GOD! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people.

Jeremiah 20:7
O Lord, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived.

Ezekiel 14:9
And if a prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the Lord have deceived that prophet.

2 Thessalonians 2:11
For this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.
