The question you are asking is why are Jewish people not allowed to "EAT" the back half of an animal. The Jewish dietary laws in the Torah forbid eating it. It is not Kosher. Only Kosher food can be eaten according to the Old Testament. Many more modern Jews disregard that law as obsolete.

Jews are forbidden to do a lot of stuff because of all the laws handed down from Moses- the Ten Commandments, then some. Most of them were to aid common sense, and help in keeping the Israelites healthy. Like the one about circumcision was probably because at the time, the Jews were busy wandering about the desert, and the likelihood of infection or worse if you don't have something done to keep your privates clean is high.

Some of the other laws, on the other hand, were about symbolism, like how Jacob strained his calf/thigh when he wrestled with God.

why isn't the jewish religion allowed to ""heat"" the back half of the animal?

If they can't heat it do they eat it cold?

well, ya see.. the back half of an animal is very special to most animals. i, personally, would hate to see another creature eating my posterior region. the Jewish people, being the fine folks that they are, respect this fact, and, thereby, refuse to partake in such fine, yet embarrassing, cuts.

they can heat it but not eat it. I'm not sure actually...but I'm assuming it's un-Kosher. I mean who wants rump roast? I've seen jews eat chicken legs and thats the back half right...
