When you want to join the church all you have to do is acknowledge that Jesus is Lord, that you believe and trust in Him to save you. We have altar calls and when people want to join the church they just go up and tell the preacher. It isn't that particular scripture so much as just knowing you want and need to be in church, although Matt. 18:20 is of great importance. Paul also tells us to forsake not the assembling of the brethern. That is because we share the blessing, learn, and help one another.

You might want to rephrase this as "aside from Matthew 18:20 what other scripture do the Baptists use to justify their church"

There are no scriptures that apply to joining a baptist church. All you have to do is tell the pastor that you want to join the church. (either by a transfer letter or by profession of faith)

I would not know any scripture that does ,not even this scripture Matthew 18:20.
From the greek Ecclesia, meaning" an assembly called together."
The Church is the organized body of believers who have taken upon themselves the name of Jesus Christ by baptism and confirmation. To be the true church it must be the Lord's church, and must have his laws, his name, and be governed by him through representatives whom he has appointed(3Nephi 27:1-12;D&C115:4 )the church is the literal kingdom of God on earth
We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church namely apostles, prophets, teachers, evangelists, and so forth. evangelist means in this day Patriarch.

There are no lines in the Bible whatsoever about joining the Baptist church. There was no Baptist church at that time. Or Catholic, or Methodist, or Latter-Day Saints, etc. There was Judaism and the Roman pantheon of gods.

Cool, 'where two or three come together in my name" cool. But we do that in a Calvary Chapel.
