Jesus the Christ was naked because it was a form of torture/humilitaion since he was a Jew; not only of race, but also of religion. There is nothing more mortifying to a Jew than to be seen naked, especially since he would have been circumsied, which was seen as "weird" by the Romans.

For the time this was suposedly perpetrated, he would have been naked.. and his clothing would have been gambled off to the winner... However, the catholic church decided back in the dark ages that there could be no naked Jesus and they "clothed" him with what looked like a skirt/ loincloth!

The Bible tells us that he was naked.
John 19.23-24
When the soldiers crucified Jesus, they took his clothes, dividing them into four shares, one for each of them, with the undergarment remaining. This garment was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom.
"Let's not tear it," they said to one another. "Let's decide by lot who will get it."
This happened that the scripture might be fulfilled which said,
"They divided my garments among them
and cast lots for my clothing." So this is what the soldiers did.

Of course we can't be 100% sure, but it was most common in Roman crucifixions to be stripped completely naked. This is one of the things that made crucifixion so humiliating and that's why they did it.

Humilation was a major part of being crucified, so I dare say that He was naked.
