religion in school, should we require and allow all religions to be taught and worshiped such as Satanism?
How about a class that covers all religions starting with ancient Egyptian religion and ending with Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddism, Hinduism, Satanism, and any other faith I left out and let people pray to whatever God or Gods they believe in and practice whatever method of prayer or ritual they practice even if it requires them to burn candles and draw pentagrams?A whole curriculum that caters to any and all faiths rather then the modern approach of keep faith and prayer in church and at home where it belongs..What do you think?

A system like this could very well end religious intolerance. People really need to learn more about other faiths.

There would not be enough time in the school day to study all religions. You'd have to cut out all other subjects, such as reading, math, science, etc, in order to have time just to deal with the major religions. And then, you'd have to decide what aspects of each religion to teach, and if you'd cover all the different sects or denominations of each religion.

You'd have to decide how to handle native American religions that believe in the use of peyote or other hallucinagenic drugs. And what about the Christian sects that believe in handling poisonous snakes? Would you want to be the one who demonstrates that during class?

A major problem would be that parents would have a fit if they felt that their religion was being short-changed, and would probably be scared that their children were being indoctrinated in other "false" religions.

I'd prefer to keep religion out of the schools.

That would work, if it wouldn't cause a mass hysteria among religious-fanatic parents of all religions, who would then pull their children out of the school and do whatever necessary to keep them from learning about the other "evil" religions. *sigh* I see that happening more than the parents accepting such a curriculum.

Maybe in high schools and offer it as an elective class. That way no certain faiths get offend if their kids are in the class. I know Christianity isn't the only faith that would have issues with it, but it's an interesting idea.

I think in a perfect world, that would work out great. Then maybe people would be a little more open-minded. But in reality, it would never work. People are too close-minded and stubborn to allow that to take place. Just think about it, the Christians would go berserk. Or at least some of them would. And we can't have anything going on that would offend them. No sir, that's just not right (note the hint of sarcasm in my voice).

Some colleges offer classes in religious studies, covering the "major religions". I would have a problem being in a Satanic ritual in the classroom. Not my cup of Starbucks, thank you.

I think if you research just a little, you will find that Christianity is the only religion NOT allowed in school.

I think people should learn about every faith without the personal bias, if a public school were to teach it. otherwise keep it out of public schools thats what private schools and home school is for.

No one should be forced to worship different religions, and part of Christianity is spreading the gospel (not just keeping it at home).
