Luther was a man of his time. He would be completely out of place in the modern world, and I think he would find it very troubling to see all the controversy among Christians. However, as a man of intelligence who was capable of change, I think he would see the errors he had made regarding Jews and many other things, and would continue to question and evolve.

Absolutely not...too many have been seduced into ecumenical fellowship with the "Great Whore"....and priest Chuck is full of it....

Luther after his "95 theses" began to see the papacy for what it really is...the very seat of Antichrist. All of the Protestant reformers came to this same conclusion...that the papacy is the son of perdition and man of sin, that scripture foretold

"……….I confess myself that I had not, at my beginning, clear views of the Indulgences, the Pope, the Roman Church, the Councils, the Universities, the Canons, & etc. And therefore, in my subsequent works, my Babylonish Captivity and my Declaration against the Bull, I have retracted what I advanced erroneously, from want of knowledge and experience, in my former works; and he that will, may read what I have there said. But, my friend, Catharinus, you are a day after the fair (as is the saying) in bringing those old matters forward. The question now is not, whether there is any Pope: if that be the question, that first part of subject inquiry is already answered and done with. We have, moreover, answered this question, 'What is the Pope?' We have concluded that 'The Pope is ANTICHRIST.' Out of this, therefore, flows a remaining and last subject of enquiry……..For the flame of my spirit having entered upon this third part, under (I believe) divine direction, has set fire to all the ordinances of the Pope, that very holy Father in Christ, that vice-god upon earth, and burnt them up as being the dogmas of ANTICHRIST……"

As a Baptist (Protestant Christian) I am not proud of Martin Luther. He did not like Jews. He wrote some paper (I forget the name) against Jews and how Christians should treat them. He died 2 days later.

I also read that Hitler was inspired by some of Luther's writings.

I am not saying Luther was all bad just when it comes to his beliefs about Jews.

No. He recognized a problem in the church he knew...thus the 99 thesis. I would like to know what he thinks of the church at large today. Personally, I do not think denominations are scriptural...In the early church it was the "believers" at ephesus, corinth, rome, etc...There is so much division today.

I like luther's stuff too...John Bunyan is also awesome...try going to christian classics ethereal library.com /ccel.com for some more inspiring and thought provoking reads...

FYI: I was not aware of luthers antisemitic days as i have not yet come across it...if i had i would absolutely reject it...as for hitler...apparently he did connect to God's saving Grace.

There are still truths to be gleamed from his and other early church leader writings....

Martin Luther would be proud of Hitler. Read some more of his stuff. I have read it all and I think he is one twisted pup.

no, he would beleive they have destroyed the true faith of the Church. Remember he never really wanted to leave the Catholic faith but was forced to by the catholic Church itself,
He merely wished to debate and perhaps change some of its issues.

he would be very upset with the lact of respect for tradition, for the informality used in many churches and I am sure many other things,

I'm sure he wouldn't like the protestants that are ordaining homosexuals, and marring them.
