He tells me I can't laugh in the office because it proves I don't take my job seriously.

Doesn't everyone have the little Check Spelling button on the page when they are either writing an question, or when they write an answer to a question? By all means I am not the spelling goddess, or the grammer queen. But is it that hard to write a question or answer that makes sense?

The media falls all over itself when a star gets "outed", and you see gay people flaunt their lifestyle all over the place, but if a star shows one little sign of a mental illness, you never hear from them again. What's your views on this?

Dear Mr. and Mrs. XXX

I want to thank you for the opportunity you gave me to work in your home, I regret to inform you that another position has been offered to me that suits the actual benefit of the services I provide which is child care. I am not opposed to light housework if and when it wouldn't interfere with my duties with the children. I am sorry but I felt by your actions that you were more concerned if housework was completed than you were anything else. My new position offers a lot of benefits to both myself and the family I will be providing my services to. I feel in the line of work I am in a certain level of comfort must be felt on both parts and I was uncomfortable in my position there. I am informing you now that as of Friday the 21st of December will be my final day. I apologize for any inconvenience, I am sure this would give you ample time to find a suitable replacement. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

That's what i plan to turn in tomorow.

Got out of work late tonight and was hungry and didn't feel like cooking. So I did something rare for me - I went to an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet.

The place was empty when I got in, but I was quickly overwhelmed an overweight man and woman and their trashy son.

As I get my food, the fat husband opens the kitchen door and has the audacity to yell at the cook to get him some green onions for his soup.

Already sickened, I'm stuck behind his porker wife who has a huge mountain of food on her plate and proceeds to complain to me how this buffet "doesn't have enough food." I stare at her blankly and say nothing.

To my chagrin, these pigs have been seated next to my table. While I eat this slop, they talk LOUDLY about every known medical condition they've ever had and then start bitching more about the supposed lack of food at the buffet.

Sickened by this subhuman swine, I left without finishing my dinner

Anyone else have a similar experience at a buffet? No more for me

What do you tip some of your lower cost services? Or do you tip for some of these at all? I get my nails done...costs about 15 to 25 bucks. It's not some nice salon...just a place where I go in, get my nails done, listen to them talk around me in another language and leave. And a buffet? You pay at the front, seat yourself, get your own drinks and MAYBE they come clear your plates..sometimes I have to do it myself...do I tip here? And what for if you think I should? And if tipping is for the service given...is it appropriate to not leave a tip for horrible service. My MIL says 10% even with that...I say forget it.....who is correct? Help!!!

Well, we just started our swim units a few days ago. We wear our boxers under our trunks (don't know why). Well, after we showered (with swimsuits on), we went to change out. Well, instead of just getting nude, they struggle trying to keep a towel over and changing, going to the bathroom, or not even changing them. What is up with this? I mean, we all have the same package, and that's what your supposed to do in the locker room... just not care about being naked.

P.S. I'll get nude tomorrow, and see how it goes.

Well, we're both teachers in middle school. We've never had any run-ins of any kind before, so I was a little surprised by his hostility toward me today.

I assigned my students a homework assignment of researching how Christmas (Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, etc) is celebrated in a different country and then they write a paper about it and give a presentation about it in class.

My kids appear to be excited about it and I thought it went well with the season. I thought I was being politically correct, because I wasn't asking the students how THEY celebrated Christmas and I didn't restrict it to Christianity.

But, my co-worker is a Jehovah's Witness and he really tore me a new one today ranting about how not everyone in the world celebrates Christmas and I'm brain-washing the students into my belief system.

Really, it was over the top. Especially since my assignment doesn't concern his class. Does anybody have any ideas about what I can do to appease this situation??

A number of years ago, there was an obnoxious guy who I worked with at the local supermarket. Let's just call him: "Larry". Larry was always saying nasty, rude things to people and acting weird. Everyone hated him. Even the management didn't like him. One day, Larry asked one of the cashiers for a piece of pizza, while she was was enjoying her lunch. When she refused, Larry grabbed one anyway, then proceeded to chow down on it, like nothing had happened. Then, he unexpectedly turned around and farted in the gir's face, while laughing at the top of his lungs. She reported him to the manager, who gave him a stern warning. Later that week, I was browsing through the public library, when Larry came up to me and said hello. I pretended to ignore him, but he wouldn't leave. Then told security there was a strange man
after me. They told him to leave before they called the cops. Larry had cerebral palsy. Should I have felt sorry for him, or would you have done the same thing?

I asked a question on Y!A, not meaning to insult anyone. I was apparently misinformed, & people say that whether I'm sorry or not & whether I knew or not, I was still wrong & there's no excuse. They even called me ill-educated because of my question. I have a college degree. My counselor said everyone has the right to make mistakes-innocent, not intentional. If you want to see the explanation of the question. It was the open question right before this in my Q&A profile. Even though I apologized & admitted that I was misinformed & didn't intend to harm, they still said I'm wrong & my wrongness is inexcusable.
