There is a person I work with who I know doesn't like me. However, when I am talking to my friends he comes around and shakes everyone's hand like he is their best friend. He only does this when I am with other people. So how do I get out of shaking his hand when he comes up to my friends (who are new & don't know this guy is a phony) & me? Thanks for your advice.

my gosh, another night of chaos at my restaurant. I really can't believe people who still do not tip, they are cheap son of a guns. I always provided excellent service and go above and beyond for my customers. I understand that some people are just stingy like that , but it just irritates me whenever i think about it becuase I have to pay tax based on my sales, so it is like they i am paying for their meal. tonight a guy actually came in and wanted to order a beer with food but he was short on a dollars and dared to ask me to pay for the difference. ....i am glad he was honest enough to ask me if i was willing to pay a dollar for his meal before i took his order. I strongly believe that people who don't believe in tipping like Mr. Pink should stay home. what do you think?

If we have to tell a person in his 20's that eve-teasing is not a good thing and that it is a form of sexual harrasment, what best argument can we put if the person says that he has learnt it from his seniors and he just wants to do it for fun? Shouldn't we start with saying that all other women and girls are like his mothers and sisters?

We will be celebrating my son's seventh birthday in about a month, and we have already reserved a party package at a local family entertainment complex; they will take care of almost everything. In the pass we have invited people and they have not come. This time I have already payed for a package with a limited number of attendees, so I'd like to be very selective. I would hate to invite a child over another for them not to come. So I have three questions?

Would it be ok to call the parents before I send the invitation/passes to find out whether their child would be able to attend?

If ok, how early in advance should I call?

How early should I sent the child invitations/passes?

I was recently at a night club and mildly intoxicated. I was introduced to the owner of the club that night and made a fool of myself. How can I recover from this? Normally I'd buy a drink next itme I saw the person, but with a club owner, this seems null. I want to approach this with perfect etiquette.

I posted this question here cause no one would answer in any other sections...

After school, I was walking home with my friends and these guys were standing by the school and kept looking at me and smiling as I walked by, I could here them saying "damn" then as I got further they hollered something at me , I don't know what.

Were they checkin me out? what do you think? I don't wanna be wrong..

If you think they were, should I tell them off the next time they try that, or let it go...?

My friend will be making crumble for the apple crumble, and she will lick her finger... not a lick but a nibble or crumble and then i can see she is about to put her finger back in... and i say something and she says 'what is rong with you!' but it's not rong to expect that you're going to have apple crumble without saliva toppings now is it? I just don't know what to say!
Maybe i'm a bit funny with these things.. like i don't like to share drinks and stuff... but its normal right?!

I went out to my car last night and was getting the garbage out and before I went in, the 2 little boys (about 13) across the street said "Hi Lady" and I waved, then when I was walking in they said "Bye Lady" and I said "Bye" then they said "Bye Sexy"! I just laughed it off when I got in, but should I have said something or told their parents? Thanks for answers.

So I wanted to apologise to all of you who kindly answered this question. I portrayed myself as a poor example of femininity which wasn't nice of me-cos it reflects on all of us ladies-although I did it because I wanted to amuse.

Please only reply if you are an American.

1) If you were to interview someone, what would you expect him to wear? (Assuming that the person is male)

2) In my country it is customary to address the person interviewing you as "Sir" or "Ma'am" How would an American expect me to address him/her during the interview process? Forgive me if this sounds like a stupid question (it probably is) but a friend told me to just address the person as Mr XYZ

Thanks!

Supposing you and your colored friend (or you alone) go to a restaurant to have a good dinner. In the restaurant there are two rooms - an A/C room & one without it. The A/C room is full of white people, but there are two or three tables vacant. The non-A/C room has colored people like Chinese, Mexicans and South Asians - but no whites.

Which room will you chose to have dinner in?

NOTE: The white people are not having a party or social meeting - it just happened like that & the restaurant does not generally discriminate based on race.

Today at work my supervious asked my to clean out half the chicken shed. He asked me to do the half behind the door which I did. I them got him to come and check it was OK before doing the next job. When he came he said that's good now you have to do the other half. I said in a perfectly normal voice why didn't you tell me that earlier? His reply is I just have told you. I said in a normal job they would have told me at the begining. He them said in a normal job you would have got the sack ages ago.

so, i was sitting on the computer, my hair is a mess, my makeup is smeared, i am in my pjs, and i was playing Habbo on the computer.
Habbo is like, a roleplaying game.
Well, I look like crap lol.
And the one guy that I like, just happened to be selling stuff for the school, and going door to door.
And guess what, he happened to come to my house. My mom invited him in, then asked what school he went to.
When he said, she said "Oh Do you Know Lizzy?"
And yeah, it went from there.
He came in the room, and saw it.
Me looking like crap, and playing habbo lol.
Then i FREAKED out

Well, i got over it, and walked him out the door.
What do you think he was thinking?
When he saw me..

And my pjs are NOT cute
Their like, ugly pajama bottoms i stole from my cousin..whos a guy
and my shirt is a old football shirt.

I have a problem where my mail-carrier almost never bothers to pick up my outgoing mail. I have a drop-in mailbox so I can understand if you miss a letter every so often, but this happens 9 times out of 10(particularly w/ those big, red, floppy Netflix envelopes). I don't know how I should deal w/ this.

my neighbour of fifteen years has just lost her son with whom I was very friendly. I have most of the letter done, but it still seems to be missing something.

Does anyone here have any good sentences that I could put in? I have never written a letter like this before.

also, I'm a bit stuck on the ending, from what I read i should be carefull when offering any further help...not sure what that means though

thanks a mill for any answers in advance

My cousin is a waiter by day and a bartender at night. Makes decent money for the most part, but he tells me that at least twice a day he gets a group of adults who don't tip. He assures me that he does do a good job and still receives nothing. Is it not common decency to leave something in return for a service. I even leave tips on the beds of hotels when I check out.

kinda long story ,, i was friends with this guy for about 10 yrs (platonic),,i thought we were very close, he even told me im one of his best friends. i confided in him alot. then all of a sudden i stop hearing from him about 3 yrs ago, he had a girlfriend who was never friendly to me, always mad. All of a sudden he stopped calling me, in Instant messenger he would never say hi for months, if i said hi he would make a wise crack or not reply. Then his friend tells me he got married to that girl. big wedding, invited everyone, he didnt even tell me about it. figured i was written off. Some months later i get bombarded with instant messages from him wanting to hang out, no mention of marriage, he messaged me everyday now. I was wary, after some time i said hows married life? he says "oh u found out", he says hes getting a divorce now and hes glad its over and he;ll explain when he sees me what happened. He asked to see me that night, i said im busy. He said next week? i said maybe
