I went out to my car last night and was getting the garbage out and before I went in, the 2 little boys (about 13) across the street said "Hi Lady" and I waved, then when I was walking in they said "Bye Lady" and I said "Bye" then they said "Bye Sexy"! I just laughed it off when I got in, but should I have said something or told their parents? Thanks for answers.

I'd let it slide this time. I'm guessing you're a lot older than they are?? If they keep on, then certainly say something to the parents because it could be considered sexual harassment if you don't like it or don't want them to say things like that to you. You shouldn't have to avoid going out because of what kids are saying to you, but you don't have to overreact either. So, let it go this time, but say something if it continues and you're offended.

13 year olds are hardly "little" by any stretch of the imagination. I would just shrug off what they said. They were probably just experimenting with using the word "Sexy" (my niece is 13 and thinks its a dirty word lol) If they say something similar in the future though, I would just mention to them that it isn't appropriate to talk to a lady that way, and leave it at that. No reason to get them into trouble with mom and dad.

You did the right thing! I know when something like that happens it can be extremely irritating. They were probably just fooling around but if they turn into little turds and get any worse you are going to have to have a chat with their parents. I remember being a receptionist once and one of the other ladies sons phoned and I said "Would you hold please?" and he said "Sure, I like holding it." Teenage boys that age are beyond stupid and I never did tell his mother. I hope this helps.

I think they liked you and thought you were pretty and,of course, you empowered them by waving and saying "bye"....little boys are like that, however if it happens again I would let the parents know what's going on ,and that the first time it was cute but it is inappropriate to have this continue.

Ya, they're just being boys, but if it continues deal with them yourself, don't go right to the parents. If they still do it, then go to the rents!

Boys showing out for each other....Ignoring them and laughing it off would have been my reaction. If they get any cockier, put them in their place.
