Today at work my supervious asked my to clean out half the chicken shed. He asked me to do the half behind the door which I did. I them got him to come and check it was OK before doing the next job. When he came he said that's good now you have to do the other half. I said in a perfectly normal voice why didn't you tell me that earlier? His reply is I just have told you. I said in a normal job they would have told me at the begining. He them said in a normal job you would have got the sack ages ago.

I can understand where you are coming from, it seems your right about cleaning the shed he could have told you to do the whole thing, the other things you said, should not have been said. In today's world the boss has the last word and the only word...and if you want to work and are on their time just grin and bare it, when work is over, go home take a hot shower put some sweats on, put your favorite music on or TV show , have a drink of your choice and relax and think of the money you made that day.

Nah! I don't consider this rude! Sweetie! I fail to see what you were trying to achieve by insisting that he should have told you at the beginning! What difference does it make? He is the Supervisor and has his reasons for asking you to do the job one half at a time! Your job is to do the job the way he tells you to do it! Believe me he is being good to you. Most managers don't take kindly to people questioning their decisions!!!

Obviously he doesn't have confidence that you will do a decent job and wanted to see it half-way done in case he had to make some constructive suggestions.
Probably in a "normal" job he could expect the employee to do the job correctly in the first place. I think when you criticized his supervision, he had the right to say why he felt it necessary to check the job out half-way so you wouldn't waste time.

Well...it sounds like he has it out for you. But on the flip side, if someone is a supervisor, its not for an employee to question a job that is given to them if its part of their job description. Thats what they are getting paid to do and if they keep questioning their assignments, most places will let them go. At my job, if you refuse to do something you are told to do and its within our job description, its called Insubordination and it will get you fired. Unless of course it isnt a part of their job description...etc...then of course question.

I think thats what he is betting on so if you do refuse, he can fire you and you won't be able to collect unemployment since it was your refusal to do your job.

If you dont like the job you are at, then look for another one while working there and leave when you get hired on someplace else.

I think you should have asked at the beginning why he only wanted to clean half of it and not all of it. Maybe he was expecting that from you in the first place.

You weren't going to stay there much longer anyway, were you?

Well, it's hard to say if it's rude or not. It all depends on the way you said it and the tone of your voice.
I've had that problem before, I thought I was saying one thing and it was being interpreted another way.
Everything depends on interpretation. You may be coming off the wrong way.

It's rude. This guy is a bully.

No wonder no one wants to work for him.

Find a new job.

Yes he was indeed rude, plus he acted stupid and had no respect for you. If I were you I would start looking for another job. People like that deserve a dirty look.
