Mexico is great! That's a huge grad gift! When I graduated university, my mom bought me this beautiful watch, and I love it.
Some other ideas are things that you can "keep." Whereas a trip is nice, it's not something you can hold on to. Then again, you will have pictures.
What are some things that you love to do? My mom bought me tap shoes when I graduated high school because that's what I am into. I still have them and I treasure them.
If you like jewlery, there's earinges, bracelets, watches, rings etc.
If you like technology and are going on to post-secondary, you can ask for a laptop. Or even a blackberry, Ipod (if you use these).
What about money towards a car? Many options here.

If you are sending out invitation just insert a card stating that if a gift is planned, you would prefer cash toward a graduation trip. I think that would not offend and solve the problem of what to give you.

Since you mentioned Mexico, I think that is what you really want, do you have family there? If not, I hope you'll get expense money, also.....Think about your future plans, would something else be more practical....ex: a car,(it can be used)a computer,a wardrobe( gift certificate to your favorite store)a cell phone, T.V., digital camera, camcorder, etc.
