she is the only one... I have to think they get ruined, especially if they are silk (they appear to be high quality). What's the point of that? We're all adults!

I don't mind - it just seems odd

The reason for no clothing (if you need a reason) is that there is usually detergent residue, which can foam up the tub.... but my kids usually wear swimsuits and its not a probelm

Nothing annoys me faster than someone stating that we are ALL ADULTS... Not all adults think being naked is the end and all. Maybe she is trying to keep a little of her stuff personal and private. Doesn't mean she is uptight or childish, just means she a little private.

With that said, I think you need to get another female to pull her aside and say, "hey, I notice you perfer to be clothed in the hottub. Did you know that detergents can ruin the tub?" If the woman insists on wearing a bathing suit, ask her to run the hose over it before she gets in or ask her to wash it only with water and a little soap before getting in.

Whose hot tub is it? If it's yours, you can say that the fabrics ruin the hot tub (which is true from what I've heard). I guess she figures that a bra and panties is the same thing as a bathing suit, and she's too lazy to change into one? Or maybe she doesn't have a bathing suit and can't afford one at this moment? Who knows. Maybe ask her in a jokingly way the next time and she what she says.

If she's your guest, you want her to feel comfortable. She may not be comfortable being nude in front of the neighbors. I can't say why she'd opt for undies rather than a bathing suit then, but that's her choice.

If you had an issue with it, I'd say don't invite her over next time. But since you said it doesn't bother you, just shrug it off as her little quirk and smile.

eeewwww - my friend has a hot tub and as gross as they are i will not go nude in one even if my partner and i watch his house and dogs!
that's nasty!

that could be one point!

maybe the girl don't want to show off her self infront of you maybe she is self consusion
maybe she likes you and thinks you'll get turned on the get embarrased her self
maybe she is weird and wears her dirty underwear to make your tub nasty
maybe she has an std and wants to hide it!
maybe her nipples are to dark!
i mean the list can go on forever really!

I wouldn't even go in the hot tub if other people where in there naked (except perhaps if my spouse and I were alone in there). It's immodest and inappropriate.

Excuse me sir, but I am not getting in anybody's hot tub naked.

Only infants are allowed to go in public naked....Nudity is only for TWO people (man & woman) who are alone; not for a hot tub full of folks. Ever heard of Soddom & Gomorrah?

I agree. I have a friend who does not allow suits of any kind in theirs. They claim it is hard on the water pump. So when we get in theirs, we are all nude. And nobody stares.

Maybe she prefers to ruin her underwear, rather than her reputation
