My best friend will not date black guys but yet she claims she is not racist. And its not even like she doesn't find them attractive either, she just wont date them. She even seen this guy at a bar once she thought was cute and wanted me to ask him if he was black or Puerto rican because if he was puerto rican she would have been interested. I just dont get how she can say shes not a racist because I consider a racist to be someone who descriminates people because of their race and thats what she's doing. She might have black friends and she might not say the n-word, but she's still racist in a way, right?

If you're in a café with someone and realise you don't have the price of a cup of tea-- or some similiar situation-- and she buys it for you, would you offer the money back later? Personally, I would rather not be embarrassed by having a trivial sum returned.

Management needs to know how lazy this person really is? What can I say or do without being a snitch? What can I say to the co-worker instead of listening to how hard they supposedly work? I need a clever retort--in a polite way-- to let them know I'm not buying their phoney act. Their fake performance is dragging down the whole floor. Help!!!

We moved into a basement apartment and the laundry room is on our floor. The landlord told us that we could not use the laundry room and that we had to go down the street the laundromat. The people upstairs on the main floor get to use this laundry room. In fact, I get to hear them taking advantage of this eminity as it's right next to our door.
Yesterday my daughter was sick and threw up all over her blankets. Since it was night the laundromat was closed, and I wouldn't drag my daughter all the way down there when she was vomiting anyway, I used the laundry machine to wash her blankets.
Was I wrong to do this, or is this arrangement with the landlord just too bizarre?

london is such international and lively city with mixed of cultures.
Also, it has wellborn history. Despite its history, it has grand countrys’ house, beautiful parks like hyde park and rivers like times.
It is mixed of old and modern culture. Moreover, it has a huge markets spread in all over the country such as Harrods. It has good transportation like taxi or the red buses. In addition to that, it has a lot of museums that shows secrets of natural and creatures.
It is one of the important cities in the world so I advise you to go to London and enjoy yourself there with such features.

At a new job I am starting we are getting the choices of different colors for our uniforms..

well one of the guys is a black man.. He wants to wear a beige color jacket. I thought it looked cute and told him that I thought it was nice that a black man could wear any color of the rainbow and make it look good..

The guy thought (or acted like it) it was nice that I said that.. But the other people in the room thought it was in bad taste.

was it. Did I say something wrong.. ?

I understand that resigning is most appropriate in person followed by a written letter, but i am in a somewhat uncomfortable position.

First we are a small company of 5 so i dont have a manager or an hr person to approach. Second my boss shares an office with the receptionist so i cant exactly ask her to leave while i have a 'private meeting'. and third (the big reason why I am leaving) is they have been 2 weeks behind on paying me for 2 months - meanwhile i have an offer for twice what i am making (or not making)... so im thinking about just sending my boss a polite, professional email and state that he will receive a signed, written notice. also, am i obligated to give him anymore than one week notice? - cuz frankly i cant afford to work their anymore.

any advise would be appreciated.

I have a friend who I have invited to Thanksgiving dinner, primarily because she is having child custody problems (the children are with their dad now), and I didn't want her to spend the holiday alone.

She is a vegetarian, so I am doing my best to be accommadating. I've discussed the menu with her, and she has told me the things she doesn't eat for ethical reasons, but then she began to tell me all the things she will not eat just because she doesn't like them, which includes almost everything I'm making for dinner! She said to me "Oh don't worry, I'll just make myself some pasta or whatever is in the cabinet." I was offended at just the thought of her coming to my house, and refusing to eat the food I'm preparing. I have no problem adjusting for dietary reasons, but I feel that a guest who won't eat what is being prepared is being very tacky, and I just don't know if I want her there with my in-laws. Can I uninvite her? If so, how can I do this? Would I be a real jerk?

at their parties, how in the world would you feel about this?

Alright, my husband's good friend whom he has a hobby working on cars w/in his friends garage has been a close friend of his for yrs. Well his friends gf who has a couple parties a yr. at their house, and of course everyone eats like they would at any party.
Every once in a blue moon, I'll have a get together here and everyone loves what I have made, EXCEPT HER {my husbands friends gf.}
At a couple of New Yrs parties I had, and this past summer cookout I had, she wouldn't eat a thing, saying she "wasn't hungry".
What's even weirder is in the past, she always admired my cooking, and always asked me to teach her how to make certain foods/recipes {used to have a cafe' I did}

The point is, she acts all enthusiastic about me trying out her food at parties ect. YET, I feel so INSULTED when she's invited here, and she won't even have a glass of soda, nor try anything I've made whatsoever.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH HER

So, here is the deal. This newer girl at my work today smelled really bad! It wasn't like body odor or anything, it smelled like vomit and spoiled milk. One girl, who had no idea it was her who smelled so horrible, went around trying to figure out where the smell was coming from, before someone informed her it was this particular girl and this smelly girl could not smell it herself. So, everyone at work was talking about her behind her back and we think she had even overheard some of the girls talking about her. I felt really bad about it and didn't want to talk behind her back and really wanted to tell her that it wasn't that we disliked her, but that she smelled rancid! Thing is, I had no idea what to say or how to tell someone that they stunk! So, if this had happened to you, what would you tell them to minimize any hurt feelings?
