i handed it in, even though i needed the money more than anything. But i would never have been happy keeping it.

what would you have done?

for those who don't believe, it was a busy day in the city, the races were on i think. i counted how much was in it before i gave it in at the bar. They guy did later come in for it and asked me if i'd seen it, he was very happy i handed it in. Glad i did. he had id to prove who he was and he got his money back.

I once found just cash - no ID - and kept it. But a wallet is different, although the Police will probably extract the cash before handing the wallet back (and then blame you, of course) You did right - and btw it was the Lord Mayor's Show that made the City so busy yesterday.

You are a Good Hearted Person.

Very few people understand that the purpose of our life is not to cheat, steal, and hurt others so we can fulfill our own materialistic & selfish desires. What makes life worth living is people who do the right thing, and therefore ease misery and suffering for others. You have no idea if that man's whose wallet you found has a wife sick with cancer, or if that $1000 dollars was his rent money that would have left him homeless has you not called him. Luckily, you did the right thing.

You gained a lot last night, you gained a Soul, and you gained God's Favor--which is something that money can not buy. People like you are the best of people's. Hey, I think you should study Islam.

You, without a doubt, did the correct thing.

In today's world, many forget the old saying,"If isn't yours, don't fool with it"

Just finding a person's property does not make it yours.

I found a wallet with $120.00 in it but had zero doubt about what to do. I looked the guy's phone number up based on info in the wallet. I called and gave him back his wallet. He tried to pay some cash but I refused.

I hope the day I lose my wallet, it will fall into to the hands of a similiarly minded person. Oh wait, that already happened!

Well done to you my friend, Karma will reward you accordingly for your actions! You did the right thing, and yes I would have done the same as I know how I would feel if I lost over a grand and some cheap little nothing didn't hand it in!

You done the right thing. That may have been someone's money to pay bills, buy food or any various things they were going to do with it. You saved them some heartache by giving it back. I would have given it back. Even though I am like you and needed the money. It was still the right thing to do.

I would have handed it in also although I could have used the money. If no one claims it is yours. But, I am sure someone needed the money to pay bills. You are a good person!

Well done you. But I would have kept the money and handed the wallet in empty with just the cards etc. in it.

Well done you! Just because it was a large amount doesn't mean the person can afford to lose it. Even so, who is anyone to beleive they are entitled to it? Sweet dreams! xx
