Nurses fob watch?

Is there a correct way for a nurse to wear the fob watch, ie left or right breast or is it to suit the wearer? does it depend whether you are left or right handed?

Nurses usually wear in on the opposite side to the little pen pocket they have on there uniforms.

I think you have actually a good idea yourself. I seem to remember a nurse would wear it on the left hand side upside down and presumably right side if left handed. If you are planning to be a nurse, bless you, I have just been to visit my boyfriend in intensive care at a Highland Hospital, and what wonderful care he is getting ok. he was semi-conscious but three nurses during my visit spoke to me about his burst ulcer due to drinking again for a week, and they were so busy - I heard them say that it was chaotic and they were behind with the dishing out the drugs. They even showed me in to a wee room to arrange his flowers, cards etc., and told me he was an awful patient because even tho he is very ill, he insisted on going home - quite an achievement in his hospital gown and bag and drips!!!!! I cannot admire them enough because he is a pain in the butt as a patient, but he will apologise and wrap them round his finger when he is getting better So I just thought I would tell you that there are successes in the NHS against all the odds and short staff.

A fob is a chain, made of gold or other metal, made particularly for carrying a watch. In the days when men habitually wore waistcoats (is this what you call a vest?) these had a small pocket for the watch, which was attached to the fob; the fob had a peg that fixed it safely by putting it through a buttonhole.

I dont think theres a correct way, I always wear it on the left breast (im left handed).

personally iwear it on the left hand side,i am right handed and keep my pens in the right pocket
