I have been in a few restaurants that give the appearance of being in a toilet, in fact the toilet was cleaner. nothing will happen unless you drop it into the bowl, then I am afraid you have lost it especially if the toilet is flushing

well i am a project/site manager and I work on building sites alot and you can probably imagine the state the toilets get in. well last week i was working on a site and the toilets are awful and stink a good few metres away. well as I walked past i saw this fat bloke get out who had been eating fish and chips whilst having a dump. I was heaving for about 10 minutes.
but what can happen? i am not sure but i know its not the cleanest enviorment to eat in with all the bacteria and all. I watched something where they said that if you flush a chain 80% or something of the bacteria goes in the air at 40 mph
ugh! i'm put of for life anyway and fish and chips lol

I was leaving a ladies room once, and I always open the door with a paper towel. I don't touch anything in a bathroom. Even my own. A young girl behind me said :why do you do that. I see people do it all the time, and it's really freaky."
I told her a few fact.
1. When you flush a toilet, it throws a cloud of suspended toilet water for 30 feet in every direction.
2. because it is micronised, the water will remain suspended in air for hours and then land lightly on every surface in the bathroom.
3. This water contains e-coli, feces, staph, Strep and a host of other bacteria that can eat your face off.
4. It only takes a few of these bacteria to start an infection in your body.
When you walk into a bathroom - even your own - you are walking into a mist of poop and pee.
And you my friend, ate it. Go get some Listerine and rinse out your mouth so you can sleep tonight.
Oh, BTW, the young girl who asked quickly grabbed a paper towel to let herself out. :)

There is no wrong or right in eating in the toilet. It all depend on you whether you are able to swallow your food in the cubicle. Having said that if you are really hungry or have no time to eat, it is absolutely nothing wrong to take a small bite. Personally i have no reservation of doing this ( when it is absolutely necessary ) provided the toilet is clean, very clean. Normally in a toilet, you don't feel disgusted looking at your own xxxx but you feel like vomiting looking at xxxx of others. So in a clean cubicle, i think you probably would have no problem swallowing your food.

Well as you have already discovered it won't win you any good hygiene points from friends !
Nothing can really happen unless you flush and stand near the toilet. I remember a news channel did a story on how far small particles ( toilet water, feces and urine particles) could travel in the bathroom when the toilet was flushed.

I remember there once was a time when I hid in the toilets eating food with my friends (there are "outside days" at school and we're not supposed to be inside o_O).. it was kinda gross but depends how gross the toilet is. I probably would do it in a singapore airport lounge toilet but not in a dingy public toilet.

It's not wrong so much as gross. With the exception of washing and cleaning, the activities one does in the bathroom and the kitchen should not have carry-over. Unless every surface in your restroom was freshly bleached and you are absolutely certain no one ever uses the facilities without forgetting to wash their hands afterward you can pick up microscopic bits of urine or feces. That is why food does not belong in the restroom.

Wrong... i don't know.
Gross... yes
Fecal germs can travel in the air. They even say not to keep your toothbrush exposed too close to your toilet, so I imagine that eating while dropping a deuce might not be a good idea.
Peeing.... still kind of gross.

If you're a breastfeeding woman who feels forced by society to feed your baby in a toilet/restroom, yes, that most certainly is wrong. If you're just some guy who carries a sandwich in to eat while you pee--well, it's disgusting, but it's your body and your food. :)

There are all sorts of germs and bacteria in a bathroom no matter how clean it is since it is a room where we dispose of bodily waste. Have you ever seen How Clean is Your House and all the gross stuff they find and say exist even in a relatively clean house?
