I opened a can of greens for dinner and it was all juice, with no greens. I am not upset. It happens, no biggie. I would however like to have the company send me a coupon for a replacement can. I love the product and will continue to buy it and I told them so in an email request. Now Im wondering, since i was not fussy and threatening to not purchase thier product, do you suppose they will bother to address me, since they know they are in no danger of losing me as a consumer?
The real question I put to you all is which do you think is a more effective approach?
"You catch more flies with honey then with vinegar" or
" The squeaky wheel gets the grease"

I prefer the nice approach myself.

If you walked into a shop would you find it offensive if the person serving smiled and said 'Tremendous'. Not necessarily refering to your cleavage but just acknowledging that you looked good. Offensive or would you take it as a complement?

Sometimes somebody will call, usually a friend or somebody but for one reason or another I just don't want to deal with them. Am I being an asshole by just not answering their calls? I kind of feel that it's my right, but some people get pissed about it.

My boyfriend & I broke up for a few months & he moved & made some new friends. Then We made up & got married ,but this female friend of his that he met ( they did not date...but she did really like him) is trying hard to befriend me. My hubby called me & told me about every second of his day during the break, so I knew who the gal was.

I have total trust in my hubby,so no worries there, but I figure this gal, even though she is super nice to me,is not someone I really care to hang out with.I am aquainted with her & that is fine, but have no desire to build a friendship....I doubt her feelings for my hubby have totally faded since he got married & Like I say, am not too worried about her as far as competition.

My husband sees her very rarely & only when I am with him.Only when she calls do we have contact with her.But the gal has now started calling me & asking to hang out.

How can I be classy & still not hang out with her?

Am I right to suspect she has slightly ulterior motives?

She's got about 3 friends with her, possibly 4
She keeps shouting my brother's name, she doesn thave the common decency to walk upto the Front door and ask for him.
Anyway, she's been screaming his name, shouting his name, and ended up throwing stones. (at our front window.)
She threw one stone and her friends laughed, and said "Oh llydia do that again that was so funny!" so she did it again.
They are still laughing now, they have music on a mp3 player
and she keeps stamping her feet and even had the nerve to pull the branches of one o the bushes in our garden.

Is there anything I can do?
Its just coming upto 9pm in the U.K (where i am) and i daren't go out because if i do, they'll swear and probably end up throwing stones at me, too.

I'm 14, shes about 12/13
and my dad wont do anything about it, he say he has to "catch her in the act or he can't do anything".

thanks x

I found this forum board and i have been posting there for about 2 months. I've meet some great people via this forum especially this one poster. He seems soo cool and smart, i was thinking that he would be a cool friend to gain.

The problem is that i'm too nosey and curious for my own good, i can't help it. I typed in this user name and found out that has been posting on a white supermacist site. The thing is i'm black. I know it him because he has stated the same facts in both of his profiles.

I have become on such good terms with term that i've given him my email address.

What should i do now???

I promise top point for the answerer who helps me out the most, thanks

Say for example there is a piece of toilet paper in the bowl. You flush and it doesn't go down unless flushed multiple times. Sometimes the bowl doesn't even refill its self as much as it should. Also, the water doesn't go down as quickly as it should

There are three girls on the bus every morning saying "something/somebody stinks" they never say it at the same time of course. they don't know each other.

but they start to sound like a broken record after a while and a lot of people "not even real friends" say that there is no one musty but the girls say it any way. And then to new guys just starting high school this year gets on the bus and the girls say the same thing. How can I make them shut up. because every 15 minutes they have to say it. and if some one do stink don't they have a brain to move away from the person. but they will stay there and pick. and every time i say something "its none of my business" they say and we are about to fight because one of them likes an audience.

One more thing it also made me mad to hear this girl say (out loud) "Some body stinks i'd be disrespective if i did say any thing"...Don't you suppose to bring the person to the side and tell them they have an oder? I mean c'mon...

Do they realize that was a personal question?...Should you STOP hanging out with someone who would ASK personal questions?...because i find it annoying. I need to know WHERE TO DRAW THE LINE!

In a few weeks I start my new job as a mailman. I'm probably going to see people in their yards while I'm walking around. What's a way to say Hi to people that I see, that can't possibly turn into a conversation.
(The mailman at my house says "How's it going?", but then the person might actually tell you.)

I live with 16 other people and share a kitchen and fridges. Since a certain person moved in two months ago, things keep dissapearing from the fridge (a six pack of beer etc.). The other day someone nicked my cheese so I wrote a polite note not accusing anyone, asking whoever took it to replace it and ask before they took next time. There is now a note attached to my note saying "suck my balls, *****." While it would be satisfying to write "you'd have to grow a set first" in response, is there anything else I could do to move the problem toward some sort of resolution rather than coming down to this person's level? We don't know who it is (suspicion is based solely on the fact that this didn't happen before this person moved in) and therefore can't accuse them outright.
BTW, I don't like leaving notes as a rule, but it wasn't the first thing they took so someone had to do something.

When you ask them to do a simple favor for you, and they say no and kinda laugh, then they walk by you and pat you on the back.

I really hate my job, and my workmates are arbitrary, nit-picking weirdos (freaks). Anyway, I go about doing my job, and do a great job, but our's is such a corporation where we get critiqued weekly, no matter what. Anyway, if I walk in, knowing what kind of harsh environment it is, and a "Jekyll and Hyde" workmate says 'hi' to me, and I don't say anything back (but go about doing a complete and efficient job), am I OK, or can I be reprimanded for being "uncourteous?"

I feel a little awkward in asking this, due to all of the flatulence questions that have been popping up today, but if I don't ask, I might forget about it, so here goes.

Whenever I go to the bathroom to do Number Two, I always open the bathroom window, regardless of the time of year or whether or not the air conditioner is on. Then, after I'm done, I close the window back up (unless it was already open to begin with). In a way, it just seems cleaner (not sure if that's the best word for it or not).
