I opened a can of greens for dinner and it was all juice, with no greens. I am not upset. It happens, no biggie. I would however like to have the company send me a coupon for a replacement can. I love the product and will continue to buy it and I told them so in an email request. Now Im wondering, since i was not fussy and threatening to not purchase thier product, do you suppose they will bother to address me, since they know they are in no danger of losing me as a consumer?
The real question I put to you all is which do you think is a more effective approach?
"You catch more flies with honey then with vinegar" or
" The squeaky wheel gets the grease"

I prefer the nice approach myself.

Always begin nice. There is never a reason to get mean unless every effort has failed and you are driven to it to make your point and to not allow yourself to be dismissed. Just explain it to them like you did to us.

It's nice of you to be nice to them. But if they don't catch on - give them a few days - you might have to get a little stronger. Not by threatening, but by asking: could you send me a coupon since I lost money buying a can I couldn't use?

You are probably not from NYC (I am)!!! People don't always start out nice when they have a complaint, they tend to let it all out.

You were very nice, which is a rarity. I would think they would gladly send you several coupons for replacements.

I'm sure the nice email will be wonderful to their eyes.

Give them time to respond, whether it be a reply in the mail or coupons via USPS.
