There is a weirdo drug taking freak who lives down the road from me who constantly pesters me every time i leave the house. I don't want to be rude to him in case he burns my house down, but i am worried about what might happen if i am too nice to him. What should i do?

Next time he comes up to you just look at him like he's got to heads (all starey eyed like) and scream at the top of your voice 'OH MY GOOD LORD I DON'T KNOW WHERE I LEFT MY ANTELOPE?!?!' and run down the road, arms flailing all about, screaming shrilly with pure terror. That should sort your problem out.

Be nice, but be moving when he says hello. Keep your distance.

Maybe you and the neighbors need to organize a Neighborhood Watch program so you can keep tabs on this guy and watch out for each other's houses.

Meanwhile, maybe you can find him an interest inside the house or elsewhere so he is too occupied to be outside bothering you. Maybe he has a future being a troll on YA,or a tester for the sex toy industry.

Worrying can consume you and your health and I don't like to see anyone go through something uncomfortable as this so my heart goes out to you.

Perhaps from a practical perspective you could have a family member or friend stay with you until things settle down. That way whenever you leave the house, or you're outside you have someone else with you. Always keep your door, windows, etc. locked and secured. I would also seek the advice from the local authorities.

If it were me...and I've been in situations like this...I pray and ask the Lord to protect me and keep me safe and give me a peace of mind about it.

I would also pray for this person. Perhaps they are lonely and you're the only one that talks to him and his heart is delighted to see you. Maybe you're the only one who he looks forward to having a normal conversation with. But I can't see what you do. Is he inappropriate? Do you feel their are ulterior motives?

I prayed for you. **Hugs**

I'd just give him a small nod and not speak at all. If he spoke to me, I'd just smile slightly and keep walking. I'd also keep something to defend myself in my hand, incase.
Do you have a big male friend who come accompany you one day, and give him a look or something? Maybe even say something if it's a real problem.
If he really annoyed me, or if I felt intimidated, I'd report him.

Infact, I'd probably report him anyway - he takes drugs so use that, and report him as a nuisance as well, the police will take a dim view of him.

When he comes to your door awnser it about half the time. During these times you shouldn't make it clear that your home. If your cars out front, lights are on and music blasting don't anwser it. Don't tell him to go away. Be boring so he'll get board and eventully he will stop coming to your house. You could tip the police off that he's a drug dealer, but make sure he dosen't find out you turned him in.

I feel your pain. I lived next door to a crack-head for two years. I made the mistake of being nice and neighborly. Letting him use my phone and such. He gave me a perfect excuse to stop speaking to him when he brought drugs into my car after I specifically told him he better not because I had kids and wasnt gonna go to jail for his sorry behind.
I just realized I am no help to solving your dillemma but maybe it helps to know your not alone?? sorry...

My freind there are a million ways to skin a cat lol he wont live beside you long after all that LOL

Get your earphones on and pretend your going jogging, and in a polite fashion you wont need to hang around to make conversation.
Just wave and wish him a good day!!

Agree with Rainey, but if that fails you will have to be forceful and take the cosequences! dont let a druggie spoil your freedom, good luck.

Dont entertain him anymore than you already do. If he is a junkie, he'll be looking for somebody to latch onto. You will never get rid of him. If you encourage him at all, he will be very hard to get rid of. Very hard.
