My mother in law's birthday is Saturday and I want to get her a gift basket of goodies. Thus far I have a gift certificate for a spa pedicure and manicure, glamorous wash gift set (for linens), a small box of purchased "homemade" turtle candies.

I need a few more ideas, but nice, but inexpensive. I am puting this all in a nice basket with ribbon.

I was looking at a wedding thinger and I noticed that the groom's dad was deceased. It got me thinking, why do they call deceased "late". Just curious.

I don't want to just throw them away because it was a significant part of their lives and therefore mine, but i feel odd displaying them.

I just wanted to get through open house quickly, so i basically ran up to each of my teachers, asked for a syllabus and moved on... My mom of course had to ask about requirements and stuff no one cares about, and then when i got in the car, she said i was rude cause i didn't even introduce myself to my teachers, and just said hey do you have a syllabus... I couldn't care a less, only I'm senior and these are the people who are going to have to write my applications... I think i can earn back their opinions, but could someone just tell me what they think,,, i'm soooo angry at myself i wanna SCREAM!! THX

I’m a very zealous cyclist and enjoy taking on difficult challenges. My friend, Yin and I take the same route to work, which is a quiet rural road. There is a stretch of a 3 mile straightway, so I’m wondering if it is possible to keep up with her car?

Postscript: My friend, Yin drives a 2002 Honda Civic DX, with a 1.7L, 115 horse power engine and a 4-Speed automatic transmission.

To pass on my thanks, I’ve temporary placed a photo page for your viewing. Please comment.

I'm a junior in college, going to school away from home. My best friend here is my boyfriend of 1.5 years. We don't have any friends besides each other and no mutual friends. So if I'm not with him I'm sitting in my room on the weekends. I have some acquaintances and friends, but they all like to go out and party. I don't think it would be fair to my boyfriend to go out and get drunk with my friends, but my boyfriend works weekend nights. I really don't have a desire to go out and party either, but that's all my friends here seem to want to do. I know I should try and make "other friends," but it's hard. It's easy to get to know someone as an acquaintance, but to call them up and be like, "let's hang out" takes time. I'm invovled in clubs and I work, but what would you recommend doing while my boyfriend is at work? I feel like I'm being a loser and boring at college and anti-social. I'm grateful I have such an amazing boyfriend, but any suggestions?

doesn't it bother you that some people answer without reading the whole thing or that they misread it?

i ahve spotsso i went to the docs about it. she said "what can i 'ya for?" and i said "i think its pretty obvious *poits to spots and laughs*

She didnt laugh back and i told my doc i think i had yeast infection. she said "what type of yeast infection" and i said "down there.. do you think they're related??" and she said i think your hormones play a pretty big part.. so i asked her again and she didnt even ask me about my yeast infection again. i told her i've had it for years and she still didn't say anything about it and gave me a prescription for spot pills. but whehnn i went out my dad called me cheeky and i said what? and he said "you were cheeky, asking 'isnt it obvious'. a doctor is a serious job, its like joking to the police. it isnt really a laughing matter. she was asking u what was wrong and u just replied with that''
i said r u serious
and he said 'yeah i could tell she was narked from her body language..'
i was like OMG.
Do you think i was rude???

I know that question probably isn't worded the best but I work in a small office and I am the "new person" having only been here for 6 months. I went to a person with a question that pertained to somethin she does in the office and she answered it. But another situation came up and she told me to do somethin that I was not told to do when I was trained for my position. So I went to the person that trained me and she told me to ask the staff attorney who works in the office. I did and a big ordeal came out of the situation. She ended up screaming at me in front of almost everyone in the office and I walked away. Now everyone acts like her raising her voice at me was no big deal and I'm pissed about it. I know I haven't been here as long as her but she is not my boss. I wouldn't think that my boss raising his voice at me would be right... Am i wrong?

I have been friends with this girl for 11 years and she is a know-it-all who looks down her nose at people not as "great" as her. I know alot of people like this. It gets annoying.

How can I deal with this problem with a sense of humour without being rude or losing my cool.

Any suggestions for what I could say/do to these types of people?

My boyfriend and I live together in an apartment and have been house-hunting for some time. There have been a few occasions when some one we knew bought a house and either he or I asked how much it was. But everytime we do, we get a pause and a strange look from these people as if they were trying to say "that's none of your business". Is this a rude question to ask? Because if it is, we honestly aren't trying to be. We're just in the market.
