In some Asian cultures, white is what one wears to a funeral.
I say that presence is more important than attire, but keep in mind the family and loved ones. Some funerals are celebrations where the deceased requested happy colours, and others are more somber.

I think it depends on who the deceased is and your relationship. I had to attend a funeral of a co-worker recently who died after a long battle with cancer. Being that it was the summer, I wore off white Docker Slacks and a short sleeve sport shirt. I knew my co-worker never would have wanted a big deal, and would want friends to be comfortable.

Of course, traditionally most people wear black, but some wear white. Others say the no no is wearing red.

I think it really depends on the person and the family. Generally, it is still considered appropriate to wear dark colors, not neccessarily all black.

I think it all depends on who's funeral your attending .
an elderly, family member, aunt, uncle, grandparent, family friend,,, due to the older generation, it would be appropriate to wear black.. or darker colors; dark blue, brown, or grey..
if it is someone younger,,, a friend, colleague,
white would be okay.. but make sure its classy,
we all know that its all about paying your respect. but look
classy about your apparel.

I'll have to go along with what KittyWhite said.
However, I would add that, although color need
not be an issue, I would strongly advise against
wearing... oh, say... a pink suit and holding up a
multi-colored parasol.
(Other than that, though, I think anything that has
a reasonably-respectable look to it will keep you
on safe ground.)

There is no longer a colour dress code for funerals. As long as your attire is neat, clean, classy and respectful colour will not be an issue.

It really isn't. There is no hard and fast rule, but somber, subdued colors are more proper. If it were me, I would not wear white, unless it was a white blouse under a darker colored suit or sweater.

Yes, you can wear whatever you have. Black is usually the color, but these days any color you wear is good...
Even the close relatives do not all wear black....
