I don't want to just throw them away because it was a significant part of their lives and therefore mine, but i feel odd displaying them.

I never cut people off of pictures because like you said, it's a significant part of life. You don't have to display them. Simply put them in a nice album so that you can reminisce with friends who are mature enough to handle it.

Hi

I would either scan the pictures and store them on a DVD, using a separate one for each category or chapter of your life. Then if you need to you can always send them to an online photo printshop if you really need a printed copy.

Or... you can always have a separate album well labeled and just throw them in a top shelf closet of a bedroom where you don't always go into.

Hope that helps

If you don't have photo software, see if a friend does. Most of the photos you can just put in albums or file away. The ones you like best: scan them and crop the best parts. For example, you've got a photo of your close girlfriend and an ex boyfriend. Crop the part of her that's in the photo, even if it's just her face and shoulders. Then you can save and print just that part.

Well, dont display them, take them down but keep them in a place where people can see them if they want, like put them in a photo album to keep them and whenever someone or you want to look at them then you can just look there..but DONT throw them away!

I don't know about friends, but my daughter recent;y divorced after a 12 year marriage. Any family pictures that were on display, I've packed away in case someday her children want them.

Don't pin them up on your wall or anything, but don't go burning them or throwing them out because even though they broke up with them it was still a part of their life and yours.. and a memory in your life, weather it be good or bad it was a memory... and when your old you may look at the picture and of forgotten all about the person... may bring back old memories... hopefully good =D

Pictures are happy memories. I keep them in an album. I do not display them as this might hurt my friends.

Put them in deep storage. In the bottom of a box in the store-room that I don't expect to open for a long time. By the time I come across them again (or my heirs do), the sting will have been blunted.

I keep all of them. My friend may not want to look at them now, but later the pictures will be a reminder of past and present friends.

It depends. Most times I just box them up and put them away. Some I take great pleasure running through the shredder.
