I have a party to attend that is being put on by my boss for myself, 2 other co-workers and our families and I have no idea of what to bring.

Although wine is the norm, I don't think it would suit the situation as I am not exactly sure who drinks or what type of alcohol they drink..

The theme is luau. What would be a nice practicle gift to bring the host as a thank you?

For example, there is "Dressy Casual, Cocktail Attire, Black Tie, etc." What are some other "attire types" and what do these mean (please include the ones I listed).

Thank You.

They have reunions for H.S about once every 5 or 10 years. When do they decide to stop. What if every class member has passed on but one? Will they still have the reunion for that one graduate?

I have a friend who is always referring to his wife as 'my wife', not her real name, 'Bec'. It's like he is subliminally trying to emphasize that they are married and we aren't. We know they are married. He doesn't have to keep reminding us. Why is he doing this?

Hi! Ok, my little sisters going to a new high school. She's done with 8th grade and i going into her 1st year in a different highschool where none of her friends are goingand she wants to know how she can make friends and have the 1st day go easier. (our mother doesn't want her to go to the highdchool in this town its really shity, we dont even get colledge credit). I told her I'd ask 4 her. What should she do at her new school. Don't give answers like "just go up 2 pple and introduce urself" thats not that easy. Be more spacific, she really don't wanna be randon and just talk 2 ramdon pple. She's really nervous about where she'll sit at lunch and who to sit ith in clsses. Thanx!

I feel really guilty right now because I damaged my car pretty badly, but it wasn't my fault because I was trying to avoid this car that was wrecklessly trying to switch into my lane. If I didn't avoid that driver I would have gotten into an accident. Unfortunately when I swerved I ran into the curve and couldn't stop in time to avoid it and now my car is messed up and the steering wheel is really messed up and all thanks to that wreckless driver. Hopefully it won't cost too much to fix it. Anyways, my parents were very mad at me and my mom was going off on me the entire day. I haven't even talked to my dad yet since this morning. I'm really afraid to talk to him and apologize to his face because he may blow up at me. My parents aren't even understanding about the whole situation either so I don't know what to do. Should I write an apology letter or does that sound weird? What do you guys think I should do?

Both? What about email? Should I email the letter? Should I just call her? I have the letter ready. It's going to be awkward. She knows I don't like her and she's going to think I'm doing this to be spiteful, but I'm not. I swear!

He started doing it the first time I met him. No matter what I say, he overtalks me, especially when I start to say something. He won't say something until I start to talk. It's maddening!! I don't want to be rude, but I need to tell him in a professional way to stop overtalking me. Any good suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I like to stay out of it! how do you address people who want to continue to conversation about others ill-fortune?

I always wanted to know about people/neighbors and their loud car stereos, I live next door to some who insist on blasting their cumbias and cebrraritas circus music crap, its one thing to play it loud enough to hear in a car port or over doing yard work, but there's this kid , at least Jr High or High School, that will play this music so loud, its like he wants the rest of the block to hear. Even the father does it, he must be proud of his son. Well its like, wtf, I'm going to go out there and blast my metal and see how they like it. My question is. why do people do that? Is it for attention? To look socially popular? To attract a mate? The thing I can think of is they are from Mex (where that's welcomed) and they think the rest of the town needs to hear them. I dont mind once in a while, not all the tim, but the kid will blast the stereo then just sit in the car. Its annoying and at times I cant even hear my TV or myself think. Hopefully their speakers will blow or get ripped off.

Two days in a row a friend of mine has asked me to watch her children on short notice. She dropped off three of them ages 5, 3, and 18 months. I also have one child who is 14 months. On this day she called around 5 in the evening and asked if I would watch them for a couple of hours so see could attend a going away party. She wanted to drop them off at 7:30pm and said she would be back around 10pm. I said that was fine. When she arrived she asked if she could just come and get them at 11pm instead. I said yes. Around 11:15, I heard the phone ring but I had left it in my sons room and didn't want to go in and wake him. I figured it was her with a reason why she was not on time. It is now 2:58am and she is not here. What do you think about this...

I think it's down right vulgar and indecent to use such unrefined words to adults. We are suppose to live in a adult, professional society but it seems like it's just the opposite.

When anyone goes downstairs at work they ask can i get you something while I am down. I never say yes. If I need it that badly I will get up and go with them or just scoot off and get it. I dont like to ask can I get you something becuase what ever it is you have to go get it, carry it i.e. hot beverige or basically fetch and carry for the more annoying types. Is is this ok? I have noticed that some folks always say yes and then someone has to get something for them.

any thoughts folks...am i too fussy...i really dont want to bother with peoples requests?

If a server is only making 3-4 dollars an hour, and he takes my order, takes it to the kitchen, brings my order to me and cashes me out, is it standard to tip?

I always feel like maybe I am supposed to give at least something and that maybe the server is expecting me to.

We both come from very large families that could honestly by our entire nursery there are so many cousins and Aunts and Uncles. I feel like we should probably have most of the stuff by then though or does it matter?"

People ask their families for 'specific gifts' at Xmas? They expect their families to buy nurseries?

Am I missing something; is this kosher somewhere? The answers are all, so far, 'Sure, go for it!'
